About the job
- A minimum Bac+5 degree in law.
- At least two years of significant experience managing contentious claims files in insurance, construction, and/or bodily injury.
- Mastery of construction insurance contracts and the legal rules governing them.
- An interest in construction and the building and public works sector.
- Bodily injury knowledge is an advantage.
- Assertiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, rigor, and interpersonal ease for negotiation and customer relations.
- Excellent writing skills, ability to synthesize information, and an interest in office software.
- Manage amicable and contentious claims files involving construction risks, including decennial liability, civil liability, and potentially damage to works, as well as bodily injury claims, including FIE and bodily injury civil liability.
- Investigate, analyze, and negotiate files in a dedicated portfolio, assessing responsibilities and insurance coverage.
- Commit the company during settlement operations and protect recourse rights, while controlling costs and timelines within delegated authority.
- Participate in expert assessments, conciliation meetings, and claims-loss reviews.
- Occasionally represent SMABTP at external events, including client invitations and FFB events.
- Work with the Tours claims teams, sales, contracts, accounting, technical departments—primarily the Settlements Department—and consulting experts to serve policyholders.
- Knowledge of bodily injury claims.
