About the company

Apex Service Partners buys controlling stakes in established local HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies and keeps their brand and local leadership. It then provides a shared services network—financing, accounting, recruiting, training, marketing, procurement, and technology—to help these operators run more efficiently at scale. The approach preserves local brands and autonomy while giving them national-scale support, creating a large, connected network across many markets. The goal is to grow through more acquisitions, building a widespread platform of trusted local service providers and improving efficiency across the whole group.

Apex Service Partners secures strategic minority investment from Apollo Funds.

Apex Service Partners secures strategic minority investment from Apollo Funds. May 28, 2026 Apex Service Partners, one of the largest residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services platforms in the United States, has entered into a definitive agreement under which Apollo Funds will acquire a minority stake in the company alongside existing investor Alpine Investors, which is also increasing its investment. The transaction marks another major private equity-backed expansion within the fragmented residential home services industry, where institutional investors continue consolidating local operators into scaled national platforms. Founded in 2019, Apex has rapidly expanded into what it describes as the nation's largest residential home services business, operating 75 local brands across 46 states with more than 13,000 employees and service reach extending to over 16 million homes. Operationally, the investment is expected to support Apex's next phase of expansion, including geographic growth, additional multi-trade service offerings, and continued investment in technology systems and workforce development infrastructure. Co-CEOs AJ Brown and Will Matson said the company's strategy has centered on investing heavily in skilled trades professionals and local operating brands while building a scalable national platform. Apex has emphasized workforce development as a key differentiator. The company stated it has supported more than 8,000 technicians and placed more than 300 internally trained operating leaders through its talent development initiatives. The company also highlighted its strong military hiring culture, noting that approximately 65% of its senior leaders come from military backgrounds and that it was recognized as a Top Veteran-Friendly Employer by U.S. Veterans Magazine in 2025. For Apollo, the investment reflects continued interest in essential services businesses with recurring consumer demand, fragmented competitive landscapes, and long-term consolidation opportunities. Apollo Managing Director Munesh Advani described Apex as a "market-leading platform" with strong local brands and significant runway for continued expansion. Alpine Investors Founder and CEO Graham Weaver said the Apollo investment validates the scale and pace of growth Apex has achieved since its founding. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Goldman Sachs and Evercore advised Apex and Alpine on the transaction, while William Blair and J.P. Morgan advised Apollo.

TAMPA, FL and DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TX - May 28, 2026 - Apex Service Partners ("Apex"), the nation's largest residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical services business, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with funds managed by affiliates of Apollo ("Apollo Funds"), under which Apollo Funds will acquire a minority interest in Apex. Apollo Funds will partner with Apex's management team and existing investor, Alpine Investors ("Alpine"), which is also making an additional investment in Apex to support the company's continued growth. "Seven years ago, our team founded Apex on a simple conviction that the best way to build a national platform in the trades is to invest deeply in the people who power it," said AJ Brown and Will Matson, co-Chief Executive Officers of Apex. "The platform we've built alongside Alpine, and the results our teams have delivered for technicians and homeowners across the country, validate that belief. Apollo is a value-add capital partner with a shared commitment to accelerate what is already working as we pursue our mission of transforming the trades through the industry's strongest business - one we've built to thrive for decades and to meaningfully improve the lives of tradespeople and the communities they serve."
