Requirements
  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • Diesel College Certification is required.
  • Experience successfully serving as a liaison and building relationships with internal and external partners is required.
  • Experience with program development and management is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Hino, and Isuzu original equipment manufacturers is required.
  • Familiarity with the trucking industry is required.
  • Expert technical repair knowledge across all heavy-duty truck and trailer equipment lines is required.
  • Strong knowledge of truck dealership service operations and best practices is required.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel and original equipment manufacturer systems, is required.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills are required.
  • Analytical thinking and creativity to continuously create, evaluate, and improve are required.
  • The ability to travel to all other locations, career fairs, and outreach events approximately 50–75% of the time is required.
  • The ability to design and execute successful training plans is required.
  • A valid commercial driver's license is required.
  • Completion of the technician training path through Master Level is required.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom-based technical training at the Training Center for technician staff across all locations, including Volvo and Mack certification courses and progression through and maintenance of qualifications within the Dealer Employed Trainer program.
  • Assess technician skill levels and competency, and develop, update, and enhance training curricula to meet evolving technical requirements and service standards.
  • Partner with the original equipment manufacturer Training Coordinator to submit rosters, monitor and track technician training progression and certification paths, identify skill gaps, and communicate training needs to Service Managers.
  • Maintain and uphold OEM Master Technician Certification as a Volvo/Mack Technical Trainer, maintain certifications for additional supported OEMs, and obtain and retain credentials required to administer in-house Master Technician certifications.
  • Ensure training facilities are safe, clean, and professional, and maintain all equipment in proper working order to support safe and effective training delivery.
  • Participate in new truck sales customer onboarding training during the delivery process, help customers understand the equipment they are taking delivery of, and provide hands-on training to their in-house technicians responsible for maintaining their fleet.
  • Assist the Director of Service with miscellaneous projects as directed.
