Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent related experience is required.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing electrical and mechanical systems is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple project work teams using applied principles of project management is required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, are required.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project and computer-aided design programs such as AutoCAD are required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to support and coordinate other sites when needed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare capital and expense projects, including project definition and costing.
  • Prepare engineering prints, Statements of Work, and related Requests for Quotes, and manage contractors through project implementation.
  • Monitor asset life-cycle management, identify facility and equipment needs, and manage performance against established thresholds.
  • Improve facility and equipment reliability through operating cost reductions and proactive maintenance procedures.
  • Provide engineering support to the plant and improve preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in new product development processes, including defining manufacturing capability requirements.
  • Manage manufacturing projects, including project timelines and budgets.
  • Lead new equipment purchases and support on-site installation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams implementing new processes, process changes, or significant manufacturing footprint changes.
  • Support manufacturing operations through new product introductions, cost savings analysis, quality initiatives, compliance initiatives, and plant closures or idling of operations.
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis for plant assets and processes.
  • Develop and conduct performance-planning evaluation assessments for critical assets.
  • Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness within the facility.
  • Use task and timeline management tools, lead project status meetings, and distribute meeting minutes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three years of engineering project management and/or engineering or maintenance management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Significant experience in wood processing and furniture or cabinet assembly in large-scale production operations.
  • Product development support experience.
  • Lean process experience.
