- A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or a Master of Business Administration degree.
- Five to eight years of experience in strategic purchasing.
- Process knowledge of machined, casting, stamping, and subassembly parts.
- Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module.
- Experience working with technical documents such as bills of materials, drawings, and norms.
- Negotiation skills.
- Serve as the global category buyer responsible for casting, stamping, and metal subassembly commodities.
- Mentor assigned suppliers and support localization activities.
- Conduct market research for benchmarking.
- Select suppliers and award business.
- Lead yearly price negotiations and perform cost benchmarking.
- Define and execute supplier and material-field strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement to deliver better processes and solutions.
- Plan supplier capacity and contracting.
- Align with Project Purchasing and Logistics teams on capacity planning.
- Serve as the single point of contact for commercial topics with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, including negotiation results, new product development, quality, and delivery metrics.
- Monitor monthly key performance indicators, perform data analytics, and share management information.
- Support internal stakeholders and develop supplier and material-field strategies accordingly.
- Experience in strategic purchasing with machined, casting, stamping, and subassembly parts process know-how.
- Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module.
- Experience working with bills of materials, drawings, and norms.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
