Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and under all weather conditions.
  • Ability to understand new concepts and learn quickly.
  • Ability to complete work with little or no supervision in a timely manner.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
  • A valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to use an iPad, GPS software, and field equipment.
  • Agronomy students are preferred, although students with a genuine interest in agricultural or agronomy work are also considered.
Responsibilities
  • Create scouting reports identifying weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and other field anomalies, and report observations to the Agricultural Technology team.
  • Utilize drones to make aerial observations, produce imagery, and collect data.
  • Collect corn or soybean tissue samples and prepare them for testing.
  • Perform soil moisture tests in designated fields and report data to the Agricultural Technology team.
  • Install moisture-monitoring equipment used to make watering recommendations on irrigated fields.
  • Collect soil nitrate samples to monitor in-season nutrient availability.
  • Organize, place, and remove field signs.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Spend approximately 75% of the time in fields and 25% in training, tours, and events.
  • Participate in weekly professional development activities.
