Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, growth marketing, or audience strategy, ideally in consumer marketplace, membership, or network-based products.
  • A proven track record of segment or market validation work, including running structured tests and turning findings into a repeatable go-to-market motion.
  • Research-forward and analytically rigorous, with the ability to isolate variables, structure experiments, and distinguish signal from noise.
  • Strong positioning instincts and the ability to translate customer truth into channel-appropriate messaging without losing clarity.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Growth, and Data and advancing work through influence; within Marketing, a sharp understanding of channel requirements for cross-channel success.
  • Ability to work independently by identifying needed information and obtaining it without relying on a full research budget or perfect brief.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including turning customer inputs and qualitative signals into positioning, strategy documents, and aligned internal recommendations.
  • Curiosity about people and community and an understanding of how trust, belonging, and social proof shape consumer behavior.
Responsibilities
  • Define which identity, affinity, and organizational segments represent acquisition and retention opportunities, and run structured tests to validate product-market-fit signals, liquidity, activation, and retention by segment.
  • Assess the relative growth opportunity of segments and develop the corresponding go-to-market motion, including positioning, messaging, channel strategy, activation flows, and retention hooks.
  • Turn customer insights, segment learnings, and positioning into actionable briefs for Growth, Social, Public Relations, Customer Relationship Management, Partnerships, and Product teams.
  • Partner with channel and creative teams during launch planning to review messaging and ensure final assets remain aligned with the strategy.
  • Design and own the test roadmap, define hypotheses, measurement frameworks, and success criteria, work with Product, Growth, and Data to instrument tests, and synthesize business implications from results.
  • Ground messaging in product reality by identifying where the product wins, where the experience breaks down, and what a segment needs to find value; work with Product to connect market insight to product improvements.
  • Speak with members and prospects regularly and translate customer feedback into segment insights, positioning improvements, and prioritized recommendations for Product and Growth leadership.
  • Use segment validation, conversion stories, and prioritization findings to establish a foundation for brand work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in consumer marketplace, membership, or network-based products.

Members pay a subscription to access a curated list of swap-ready homes and receive hosting guides, with host protection and up to $100,000 in damage coverage. It differentiates itself by focusing on reciprocal swaps within an exclusive, vetted community, pairing a curated network and resources with insurance rather than just lodging. The goal is to provide a cost-effective, community-driven travel alternative and grow a trusted home-swap network in the market.

Kindred Raises $125M in Funding

Kindred raises $125M in funding. Kindred, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a global home swapping platform, raised $125M in funding. The round included a $40M Series B round co-led by NEA and Dylan Field, CEO of Figma, and an $85M in Series C led by Index Ventures. The company intends to use the funds to evolve its community experiences and offerings, including allowing members to build out new, sub-communities where they can open their homes to others within their extended networks, or with whom they share common interests or values. Founded in 2021, and led by CEO Justine Palefsky, Kindred is a global provider of a home swapping platform that allows verified members to swap homes through a human travel experience, generating a more way to see the world. 90% of its inventory is people's primary residences, positioning it within the travel accommodation market. Kindred service fees average $20 - 45 per night, meaning a stay costs roughly one-tenth of a short-term rental in a comparable home. The platform has grown to almost 300,000 members across 150+ cities, adding 150,000 members in 2025 alone, with almost 350,000 nights hosted to date. Destinations on the platform include New York City, London, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Mexico City, and Paris.
