About the job

Requirements
  • 7–10 years of experience in cloud or hyperscale infrastructure, data center planning, capacity planning, cloud networking, connectivity, data center design, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business or customer demand into executable infrastructure, capacity, network, or physical site plans.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure dependencies, including compute, racks, power, cooling, network capacity, physical connectivity, and deployment sequencing.
  • Experience supporting large-scale or high-density infrastructure deployments; AI/ML, GPU, InfiniBand, or advanced network-fabric experience is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to make sound decisions amid shifting priorities, incomplete information, and tight timelines.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships across Sourcing, DC Engineering, DC Design, Delivery, Networking, Connectivity, Capacity Planning, and Development organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, operations, supply chain, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate, integrated, and actionable site designs for new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center builds and expansions.
  • Translate business demand, customer requirements, and infrastructure capacity needs into an executable site and data-hall plan.
  • Convert business demand, customer requirements, and capacity plans into integrated site designs for greenfield data centers and site expansions.
  • Own the site-design process from initial demand intake through an approved, actionable handoff to Data Center Design and Delivery teams.
  • Develop data-hall layouts and rack, compute, power, and infrastructure allocation plans that meet customer needs, deployment timelines, and site constraints.
  • Integrate network capacity, physical connectivity, and infrastructure requirements from partner organizations into a cohesive site plan.
  • Partner with Networking, Connectivity, Compute, Capacity Planning, DC Engineering, DC Design, Delivery, and Sourcing teams to resolve dependencies, constraints, and design tradeoffs.
  • Support complex deployments, including AI networking, high-density GPU infrastructure, and multi-plane fabric designs, ensuring site plans account for associated power, cooling, network, and connectivity requirements.
  • Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive site-design documentation that serves as the approved source of truth for each new build or expansion.
  • Drive timely design reviews, stakeholder alignment, and leadership approvals; clearly communicate risks, decisions, assumptions, and required actions.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and automate site-design inputs, workflows, and outputs; partner with development and tooling teams to improve scale, accuracy, and cycle time.
  • Use data and judgment to recommend allocation, sequencing, and design decisions that balance customer commitments, business priorities, and infrastructure availability.
  • Identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a broad portfolio of functional initiatives and programs.
  • Plan and direct schedules for multiple programs running simultaneously.
  • Partner closely with global cross-functional teams to understand and capture program requirements.
  • Navigate complex dependencies between cross-functional teams and organizational priorities to optimize the critical path and address and mitigate risks.
  • Influence internal and external teams to prioritize, drive mitigation plans, ensure ownership and regular follow-up through program closure, and escalate as necessary.
  • Manage and analyze the overall portfolio budget, including spend, forecasted spend versus budget, spend per program, and historical trends.
  • Establish scalable end-to-end project frameworks, processes, and tools, and manage stakeholders using project management standards and documentation best practices.
  • Run standups and sprint-planning exercises for owned programs.
  • Build and maintain consistent reporting across numerous programs.
  • Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications

AI giants hiding $3tn debt pile that could burst bubble and wreck economy

Michael Burry, the hedge fund manager who predicted the 2008 financial crisis, has warned that AI companies are hiding $3 trillion in data centre debts that could destabilise the global economy. Burry's analysis of regulatory filings reveals Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta and Oracle have accumulated massive off-balance-sheet obligations. The five companies have signed $1.2 trillion in data centre leases, with at least $857 billion non-cancellable, plus over $1.5 trillion in supply chain purchase commitments. These liabilities don't appear on their balance sheets under current accounting rules. Burry warns this could reach $5 trillion by 2028. With combined annual earnings under $400 billion, Burry questions what happens if AI growth disappoints. Oracle, Microsoft and Meta shares have already fallen from recent peaks.

Oracle integrates with Swift's blockchain ledger for cross-bank tokenised deposits

Oracle is integrating with Swift's blockchain ledger to help financial institutions connect tokenised deposit infrastructures across banks. The integration enables banks to extend existing payment services with interoperable tokenised deposits and manage traditional and digital asset payment flows through a unified operating model. Swift's ledger provides cross-bank coordination, allowing participating institutions to incorporate tokenised deposits from their own bank-centric ledgers into interbank payment flows. Oracle simplifies participation through Oracle Blockchain Platform and Oracle Digital Assets Data Nexus, providing a pre-integrated foundation for tokenised deposit infrastructure. Oracle Banking Payments connects these digital asset flows with existing ISO 20022 payment processing. The solution aims to help institutions deliver seamless, always-on payment experiences whilst maintaining control, security and regulatory compliance. Oracle announced the integration at Sibos in Miami.

Oracle's $165B AI data centre hits snag as shares plummet 55%

Oracle and Salesforce have underperformed the market over the past year, with Oracle's stock plummeting 55% and Salesforce down 3%, compared to the S&P 500's 16% gain. Both companies are investing heavily in artificial intelligence. Oracle is pivoting towards cloud infrastructure, securing major contracts with OpenAI, Meta, and Nvidia. First-quarter cloud infrastructure sales surged 121% year-over-year to $7.4 billion, with total revenue rising 30% to $19.3 billion. However, investor concerns are mounting over Oracle's aggressive AI spending. Capital expenditures jumped 235% to $28.5 billion in the first quarter. The company's $165 billion Project Jupiter data centre in New Mexico faces delays due to permitting and power supply issues, pushing completion beyond the original late-2028 target. These setbacks have spooked shareholders worried about the return on Oracle's massive AI infrastructure investments.

Oracle recently settled data privacy issues for $115 million. Oracle's cloud infrastructure revenue more than doubled in the most recent quarter, with a backlog exceeding $600 billion signalling strong future demand.
