  • A high school diploma or equivalency and a minimum of 3 years of desktop support or service desk support experience are required.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues is required.
  • Advanced or expert knowledge and experience supporting Windows operating systems in an enterprise domain environment, including installation, troubleshooting, and configuration, is required.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify likely root causes, and determine appropriate escalation paths is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications is required.
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory and security groups is required.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wired and wireless connectivity, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for hardware, software, authentication, connectivity, peripheral, and application issues.
  • Answer incoming calls and walk-up requests for technical support.
  • Record incidents and requests in the ticketing system, capturing request details, assessing impact and priority, and documenting resolutions.
  • Independently manage and resolve tickets in the queue within established service expectations.
  • Manage user account access through Active Directory and Duo, including onboarding and offboarding and departmental technology changes.
  • Prioritize incidents according to operational and patient-care impact and communicate clearly with users and technical teams throughout resolution.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of infrastructure, network, security, and application issues and coordinate escalation to appropriate technical teams when necessary.
  • Publish and maintain documentation in the team knowledge base.
  • Use good judgment in challenging situations and follow established escalation paths.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
  • Provide professional customer service.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and work toward solutions.
  • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, including time management.
  • Work occasional weekends.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or equivalent are preferred.

Allen Institute, UW, and Fred Hutch launch AI BioDesign accelerator to decode biology's design rules

The Allen Institute, University of Washington, and Fred Hutch Cancer Center have launched AI BioDesign, a collaborative accelerator combining artificial intelligence with experimental biology to explore biological design space. The initiative aims to generate open models, datasets, and tools for creating biological solutions in healthcare, environmental challenges, and advanced technologies. AI BioDesign will operate through a continuous learning platform where AI models propose biological designs, scientists test them at scale, and results feed back into the models. The accelerator focuses on building modular models from tractable biological problems and conducting multiplex experiments. All models, datasets, assays, and benchmarks will be openly shared. The collaboration leverages Seattle's scientific ecosystem, combining the Allen Institute's open-science platforms, UW's synthetic biology expertise, and Fred Hutch's cellular systems knowledge. The project is supported by Fund for Science and Technology, a foundation in the Paul G. Allen philanthropic ecosystem.
