Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and seven years of clinical research experience; or two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and five years of clinical research experience; or licensure as a Practical Nurse and four years of clinical research experience; or a bachelor's degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and three years of clinical research experience; or a master's degree, Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Philosophy in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and one year of clinical research experience.
  • Clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher credentialing category.
  • On-call work is required.
Responsibilities
  • Independently manage significant and key aspects of a large clinical trial or all aspects of one or more small trials or research projects.
  • Train and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Oversee data management for research projects.
  • Interface with research participants and resolve issues related to study protocols.
  • Authorize purchases for supplies and equipment maintenance.
  • Determine effective strategies for promoting and recruiting research participants and retaining participants in long-term clinical trials.
  • Periodically audit operations, including laboratory procedures, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and provide leadership in identifying and implementing corrective actions and processes.
  • Monitor institutional review board submissions and respond to requests and questions.
  • Interface with study sponsors, monitor serious adverse events, and resolve study queries.
  • Provide leadership in determining, recommending, and implementing improvements to policies and processes.
  • Assist in developing grant proposals and protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, or diagnostics when appropriately credentialed and trained.
  • Perform some supervisory duties as needed.
  • Perform related approved responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a clinical environment, emergency department, neurology, and/or critical care experience is preferred.
  • Certified Research Administrator or Clinical Research Coordinator certification is preferred.
