Laland Baptiste, LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to support a large-scale public construction project in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have hands-on field inspection experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems on major building construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of MEP installations to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection work throughout construction.
• Monitor contractor activities and identify deficiencies or non-conforming work.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and approved shop drawings as they relate to field installations.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, and documentation of work in progress.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, construction management staff, and other field inspectors.
• Monitor testing, commissioning, equipment installation, and system start-up activities as required.
• Assist with punch lists, corrective work, and project closeout.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of MEP construction inspection or related field experience preferred.
• Experience with large commercial, institutional, government, or public-sector construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Previous experience working on NYC agency or other public-sector projects is highly preferred.
• Strong written communication and field reporting skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Bronx and coordinate effectively with multiple trades and project stakeholders.
