Our team is looking for a Principal Engineer to join a team of engineering leaders to help shape Kobo’s e-commerce software landscape.At Kobo we develop software to cover a rich set of domains - hardware devices, eCommerce, content rendering, and a burgeoning data ecosystem.

Work cross-functionally to architect solutions to complex problems, delivering proposals that are flexible, robust and taking into account business needs.
Collaborate with teams to help them implement and test new features.
Mentor engineers on best practices, technologies, and patterns.

10+ years of experience building and maintaining high-quality software
Experience building e-commerce systems at scale and leading transformation
Great communication skills both with technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Great at mentoring other developers, being an evangelist for best practices
Deep understanding of various architectural patterns and the tradeoffs therein
Strong experience with both .NET and Java
Experience with both development and operational aspects of software systems
Experience with messaging systems, document databases
