Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing Splunk Enterprise.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, functionally testing, and validating data in a Splunk environment.
  • Experience administering Splunk systems, including installation, configuration, performance and availability monitoring, upgrades, and troubleshooting in Windows and Linux Server environments.
  • Experience creating custom dashboards, writing queries, generating reports, and setting up alerts and notifications.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance and the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential and at least 7 years of experience supporting information technology projects and activities; an associate degree and at least 5 years of such experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of such experience.
  • Department of Defense 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II certification, including CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense 8570.01-M Cybersecurity Service Provider—Infrastructure Support certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND certification, before the start date.
Responsibilities
  • Implement and operate next-generation security solutions for government and commercial clients.
  • Use Splunk and integrate it with HBSS, Enterprise Security Manager, Network Security Manager, NetFlow, and/or Intrusion Detection Systems to monitor, detect, and analyze threats.
  • Perform hands-on evaluation, implementation, and operation of cyber defense tools and technologies.
  • Apply defense strategies for large and complex networks to identify vulnerabilities and threats, prioritize response actions, and develop effective countermeasures.
  • Support risk management and security compliance for specified cybersecurity tools.
  • Apply technical thought leadership to solve complex security challenges.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to ingest and parse logs within Splunk.
  • Experience with fields abstraction.
  • Experience with data modeling using Splunk.
  • Experience with workflows and drilldown queries.
  • Experience administering Splunk in distributed deployments.
  • Experience performing site surveys, data gathering, and research and analysis regarding the deployment and implementation of security tools.
  • Splunk Certified Power User or another advanced Splunk certification.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation expertise to convey complex ideas to clients and internal staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
