Camera Senior Engineer - ISP/Tuning/Driver
About the job
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Imaging Science, or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in C or C++ software development is required, with exposure to embedded systems or Linux driver development.
- Strong knowledge of ISP fundamentals, digital image processing, and camera tuning concepts including auto white balance, auto exposure, and 3A is required.
- Familiarity with memory and buffer management in Linux or embedded environments is required.
- Experience writing automation or test scripts using Python, MATLAB, or a similar tool is required.
- Knowledge of MIPI-CSI-2, I2C or SPI, V4L2, sensor driver design, FPDLINK, CVBS, analog cameras, and imaging pipelines is required.
- Knowledge of C++ design patterns and Linux kernel programming is required.
- Develop and optimize camera software modules, including ISP pipeline components, driver interfaces, tuning tools, and memory or buffer management for embedded systems or system-on-chip platforms.
- Develop and maintain Hardware Abstraction Layer and Kernel Mode Driver interfaces between the host and camera sub-modules.
- Manage memory and buffer lifecycles and implement efficient buffer queue mechanisms under Linux kernel constraints.
- Use image-quality tuning tools, scripts, and automation frameworks.
- Benchmark and validate image output quality using objective metrics such as MTF, noise, and low-light performance through image-quality test charts and automation scripts.
- Participate in debugging, profiling, and performance optimization to improve power consumption, latency, and resource usage.
- Author and maintain technical documentation including API specifications, tuning guides, interface descriptions, and test plans.
- A master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field is preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in consumer camera ISP software development or tuning is preferred.
- Knowledge of color science, imaging sensor characteristics such as CMOS and Bayer, and image-quality metrics including MTF, FOV, and distortion is preferred.
- Familiarity with hardware drivers, Hardware Abstraction Layer design, debugging tools, profiling, and Linux kernel fundamentals is preferred.
- Experience with automated image-quality testing frameworks, camera sensor integration, and validation pipelines is preferred.
- Exposure to machine-learning-based image processing or algorithm development is preferred.
- Prior exposure to Hardware Abstraction Layer interfaces, buffer management, and tuning interfaces is preferred.

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Quest Global specialises in aerospace, automotive, energy and semiconductor sectors. CEO Ajit Prabhu said the investment validates the company's differentiated value proposition and growth strategy. Hillhouse's Sean Carney cited Quest Global's domain expertise and long-term customer relationships as key investment factors. Jefferies served as exclusive financial adviser.
Hillhouse is acquiring a 5% stake in Quest Global at a $4.5 billion valuation, outbidding Temasek in a pre-IPO round. The deal represents a significant jump from Quest Global's previous $1.8 billion valuation when Carlyle Group acquired a stake in 2023. Temasek had also been planning to purchase approximately 5% of the engineering services company. The transaction marks substantial growth for Quest Global, with its valuation increasing 150% in roughly two years.
Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
