Requirements
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook.
  • Computer literacy and comfort using office machines and filing systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, adjust to changing deadlines, handle emergency situations, and shift priorities.
  • Attention to detail, conscientiousness, and strong follow-through.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills for clear and professional interactions with patients and staff.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to manage cash transactions and accurately reconcile cash drawer balances with computer system reports.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in a surgical specialty clinic, or CCMA/CMAC certification.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, and minimum one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for provider evaluations by taking vital signs, recording information, and assisting with wound care, injections, and minor procedures.
  • Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient use of facility and provider time.
  • Maintain treatment rooms and ensure their cleanliness.
  • Assist in scheduling surgeries.
  • Obtain authorizations for diagnostics and Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Ensure that all required clearances are in place.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails.
  • Follow up promptly on flagged items in the system.
  • Maintain inventory levels of medical supplies.
  • Participate in training new employees.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to support smooth operations and patient care.
  • Ensure that equipment is used properly and supplies are adequately stocked.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred.
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from the American Medical Certification Association preferred.
  • Organizational skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
