  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or a related field and 4 or more years of experience in data science or analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operations; or a Bachelor's degree in those fields and 6 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or a related field and 8 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in those fields and 7 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing and negotiating contract terms and conditions for services, construction, engineering, materials, and equipment-installation contracts.
  • Understanding of the full lifecycle of contracting principles and legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract-management software and tools.
  • Expertise in General Contractor and Architect/Engineer contracts, with a record of delivering complex projects.
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards such as ASHRAE and NETA, and with building codes.
  • Experience negotiating large-scale construction contracts throughout their lifecycle, including using BATNA and other methodologies in the owner's interest.
  • Experience managing contract types such as Guaranteed Maximum Price, Stipulated Sum, Unit Rate, Time and Materials, and Incentive Fee contracts.
  • Verbal and written communication proficiency in English.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee execution of General Contractor, commissioning, Architect/Engineer, and other service contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, and project-management teams to align contract execution with project objectives.
  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for contractual matters related to General Contractor, commissioning, and Architect/Engineer projects.
  • Support negotiation and issuance of General Contractor contracts in alignment with regional project requirements and timelines.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contract execution, and develop and implement strategies to address contractual and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Monitor and control budgets to keep expenditures within approved limits.
  • Manage the change-order process and ensure proper change-order management.
  • Prepare and submit reports, including forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and corporate policies.
  • Generate regular reports on contract performance, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to achieve milestones and deadlines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to align them with contract requirements.
  • Ensure General Contractor contracts are issued in the region according to established request-for-proposal standards.
  • Ensure contractors manage system startup and commissioning activities in accordance with the approved commissioning plan of record.
  • Ensure safety compliance during commissioning activities in collaboration with the General Contractor.
  • Manage issuance of Architect/Engineer contracts in alignment with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with sponsor teams, contractors, and leadership to facilitate communication and ensure timely delivery of Architect/Engineer services.
  • Maintain accurate, current documentation of contracts, amendments, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management, on contract performance and project progress.
  • Manage sponsor-team meetings with contractors.
  • Drive business engagement and partnership with Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Cost Management, Engineering, Quality, Construction, and Project Managers.
  • Drive commercial compliance and problem resolution with General Contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify and drive continuous-improvement and risk-management opportunities by evaluating procedural, operational, and environmental factors, analyzing root causes, sharing insights with stakeholders, and influencing adoption of improvements.
  • Plan and manage executive sponsor meetings with key stakeholders to support successful project execution.

LinkedIn ex-CEO Ryan Roslansky to leave Microsoft in 2026 amid executive departures

Ryan Roslansky, Microsoft's executive vice president and former LinkedIn CEO, will leave the company at the end of 2026. Roslansky, who joined LinkedIn in 2009 and became CEO in 2020, cited family ties to the San Francisco Bay Area as his reason for departing. He will remain as an adviser to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella through December. His exit follows a string of executive departures at Microsoft, including gaming chief Phil Spencer and Office executive Rajesh Jha. Roslansky moved into Microsoft 365 oversight earlier this year after Dan Shapero became LinkedIn's CEO. During Roslansky's six-year tenure leading LinkedIn, membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion users. LinkedIn posted 11% revenue growth for Microsoft's most recent fiscal year.

Elizabeth Warren demands answers as Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft claim $96B in AI tax breaks

Senator Elizabeth Warren is demanding answers from Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft over $96 billion in lost federal revenue from AI-related tax breaks. Despite reporting massive revenues in Q2 2026, the tech giants saw significant tax reductions last year. Amazon paid $7.8 billion less in tax, Meta nearly $7 billion less, whilst Microsoft and Alphabet each qualified for roughly $19 billion in tax cuts. The companies are benefiting from provisions in Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including 100% bonus depreciation for AI data centres and expanded R&D tax credits. Corporate tax revenues have dropped 23% this year, largely due to these AI tax breaks. Warren and fellow lawmakers have sent letters to the companies' CEOs questioning the tax breaks and their lobbying efforts, arguing the costs have been imposed on American families through cuts to Social Security and other programmes.
