Requirements
  • An Associate's degree or higher from a U.S. Department of Education-accredited institution is required.
  • An active Florida Paramedic certification is required.
  • Four years of field-level provider experience within the pre-hospital environment are required.
  • Instructor qualifications specified in Florida Administrative Code 64J-1.0201 are required.
  • Instructor certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and either International Trauma Life Support or Prehospital Trauma Life Support is required within six months of employment.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted.
  • The candidate must have proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • The candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities
  • Design, prepare, and teach Emergency Medical Services coursework focused on laboratory training during day or evening offerings.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in didactic, laboratory, and classroom settings to promote student success.
  • Support college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
  • Collaborate with the Director of EMS Programs, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum.
  • Protect the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide students with frequent and timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Document student progress and maintain records, including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Provide courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain effective communication within the college, department, and program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • The ability to incorporate appropriate instructional technology into coursework is preferred.
