Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a commercial driver’s license is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in telecommunications, broadband, or construction is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and maintain a valid medical card.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel to project sites as needed, and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working at heights.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with installing and maintaining aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables.
  • Support cable lashing, strand placement, and pole hardware installation.
  • Learn and assist with basic fiber splicing and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Safely use ladders, climbing gear, and bucket trucks to work at heights up to 25–30 feet.
  • Read and follow work orders, maps, and construction prints.
  • Follow safety procedures, including personal protective equipment, traffic control, and fall protection requirements.
  • Participate in training and mentorship to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs or emergency repairs as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • First Aid or CPR certification.
  • Fiber or cable construction training certification.
  • Experience with geographic information system field tools or digital job-tracking systems.
