  • Demonstrated experience independently leading workplace investigations from intake through resolution and written findings.
  • Working knowledge of employment-law fundamentals across multiple EMEA markets and comfort partnering with outside counsel to address knowledge gaps in jurisdictions with smaller employee populations.
  • Deep expertise in Spanish labour law, including Estatuto de los Trabajadores, collective bargaining frameworks, works council regulations, equality legislation, and recent regulatory developments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or negotiating with employee representatives and/or trade unions in Spain.
  • Hands-on experience creating and governing mandatory compliance programs such as an Equality Plan, LGBTI+ Protocol, harassment protocol, or whistleblowing channel.
  • Experience authoring and iterating ER/HR policy from scratch, including piloting changes and incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  • A track record of coaching and influencing managers and senior leaders through ambiguous, sensitive, or emotionally charged situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Comfort operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced, distributed, matrixed environment and building processes as well as running them.
Responsibilities
  • Own the EMEA Employee Relations caseload, running matters end to end across EMEA, including intake, triage, investigation, resolution, and documentation for concerns involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct, performance disputes, and policy violations.
  • Conduct thorough, impartial, and legally sound workplace investigations, including witness interviews, evidence assessment, and written findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Advise and coach people leaders and People Business Partners on disciplinary processes, grievances, performance management, accommodations, and terminations, grounded in local law and company values.

  • Lead delivery of mandatory EMEA people-compliance obligations, particularly for the Spanish group, including the Equality Plan, salary audit and gender pay gap reporting, harassment protocol, LGBTI+ Plan, and whistleblowing channel.
  • Implement the global ER case-management framework in EMEA, adapting processes and communications to local legal requirements and employee and representative contexts while maintaining a consistent global employee experience.
  • Design, implement, and maintain EMEA people policies and procedures, keeping regional variants aligned with the global framework.
  • Monitor EMEA employment and labour law developments, identify risk exposure, and develop mitigation plans with Legal and outside counsel.
  • Design and deliver practical employee-relations and labour-compliance training for managers and the People team on investigations, difficult conversations, documentation standards, and EMEA legal context.
  • Track EMEA employee-relations and labour-relations case data, cycle times, and outcomes, and translate trends into recommendations for the Manager, Global Employee Relations, regional leadership, and the wider People team.
  • Independently assess and manage day-to-day EMEA employee-relations cases, choose an appropriate route, and advise managers on routine outcomes without escalation.
  • Own the operational relationship with Spanish employee representatives and unions, including setting negotiation positions, preparing consultation processes, and managing works-council interactions while keeping relevant global and regional leaders informed.
  • Determine approaches to mandatory EMEA compliance obligations, including timelines, scope, and vendor or counsel engagement.
  • Determine when local law requires a departure from the global ER framework and propose regional variants.
  • Escalate matters involving significant legal risk, collective action, major restructuring, executive-level cases, privileged advice requirements, or formal labour-authority proceedings.
  • Build structures and frameworks in a high-ambiguity environment where no local playbook exists.
  • Triage and prioritise a regional caseload across markets while managing deep single-country obligations.
  • Navigate multi-entity, multi-collective-agreement environments in Spain and work toward harmonisation over time.
  • Anticipate regulatory change and labour-market developments, translating them into risk assessments and policy adjustments.
  • Balance legal compliance, employee-relations best practice, business continuity, and company values under time pressure and with incomplete information.

  • Professional or native proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, or LegalTech, particularly in high-growth or post-acquisition integration environments.
  • Familiarity with a globally distributed People function where a regional employee-relations specialist is the primary local expert.
  • Exposure to employee-relations matters in EMEA markets beyond Spain, particularly the UK and Ireland.

CTM integrates with Clio to link legal marketing spend to billable revenue

CTM, a global conversation analytics company, has launched an integration with legal software provider Clio. It links CTM's call tracking and lead attribution to law firms' client intake workflow. The integration maps inbound calls, texts, and form submissions to the matching Clio contact or matter. Firms can see which channels, campaigns, and keywords bring in the most valuable cases, and no longer need to log call details by hand. It is aimed at Clio's network of more than 150,000 legal professionals, especially solo practitioners and small firms. According to Clio, phone calls remain the top intake channel for new clients in the legal industry. "When a single click can cost more than $500, impressions and lead counts aren't enough," said Chris Lafferty, vice president of product and technology at CTM. CTM will show the integration at ClioCon in Boston on October 26-27.

CallRail's Voice Assist integrates with Clio to automate legal client intake 24/7

CallRail has expanded its partnership with Clio, integrating its Voice Assist AI tool with Clio Grow and Clio Manage platforms. The integration enables law firms to handle inbound calls and texts 24/7 using AI that can recognise existing clients, qualify new leads, and book consultations automatically. Voice Assist pulls client information from Clio to personalise interactions, greeting returning callers by name and skipping previously answered intake questions. For new callers, it runs standard intake procedures and creates contacts in Clio with full marketing attribution. The system schedules consultations directly into Clio Manage without requiring human intervention, including after-hours calls. CallRail serves more than 225,000 businesses worldwide. The integration is now available to law firms.

Clio acquires Jurisage to fuel AI expansion with Canada's largest legal database

Burnaby, BC-based Clio has acquired Toronto legaltech firm Jurisage to bolster its AI capabilities in Canada. The deal gives Clio access to one of Canada's most comprehensive AI-ready legal datasets, covering over 470,000 cases across more than 40 courts. Jurisage's 10-person team is joining Clio, which recently surpassed $500 million USD in annual recurring revenue and holds a $5-billion valuation. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition addresses gaps in Clio's Canadian legal database following its $1-billion USD purchase of vLex in 2025, which offered limited Canadian coverage. A recent Clio report found that 95 per cent of Canadian lawyers are using AI in their work. The move comes as foreign competitors like Harvey and Legora expand into the Canadian market.
