Requirements
- An associate degree in laboratory science, including chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or graduation from a military science program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science, or medical technology combined with certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
- Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
- Must have completed or be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
- Acceptable certifying agencies include the American Society for Clinical Pathology, National Certification Agency, American Medical Technologists, American Association of Bioanalysts, and Health, Education, and Welfare.
Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret laboratory tests in the clinical laboratory for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
