Requirements
  • At least 10 years of reliability engineering experience for consumer hardware, including at least one shipped product where reliability was owned from concept through field.
  • Deep working knowledge of consumer-electronics qualification standards, including IEC 60068, IEC 61000, JEDEC, and IPC, and regional certifications including FCC Part 15, CE/RED, IC RSS, battery approvals, and body-worn approvals.
  • Experience designing accelerated life tests and applying statistical reliability methods, including Weibull analysis, acceleration models, and sample-size design.
  • Demonstrated experience driving design-for-reliability with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and firmware leads, including FMEA leadership, design reviews, and embedding reliability discipline upstream.
  • Ability to own external laboratory relationships, certification projects, and contract-manufacturer reliability gates.
Responsibilities
  • Own the reliability strategy end-to-end, including test plans, qualification protocols, accelerated life testing, and certifications across all subsystems and regions.
  • Drive design-for-reliability into every team's process by leading FMEA reviews, participating in design reviews, and building reliability into development rather than testing it afterward.
  • Define and execute the qualification test program covering environmental, mechanical, wireless, battery, and biocompatibility testing for skin-contact components.
  • Establish internal test capability where appropriate and external laboratory partnerships where needed, and own test fixtures, sample plans, and pass/fail criteria that gate every release.
  • Lead the certifications strategy and execution for FCC, CE/RED, IC, RoHS, REACH, body-worn approvals, and battery-specific approvals with regulatory consultants and contract manufacturers.
  • Partner with the electrical engineering lead on EMC and ESD; audio and camera leads on component-level reliability; the product design lead on drop, ingress, and thermal robustness; and the firmware lead on field telemetry and diagnostics.
  • Take the product through qualification gates to in-market launch by the end of the year.
  • Own post-launch field quality, including AFR and MTBF targets, returns analysis, root-cause investigation, and the corrective-action loop into design.
  • Build and lead the reliability function as the product scales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with wearables, hearables, mobile devices, or other body-worn consumer electronics.
  • Experience with battery reliability, including UN38.3, cycle life, swelling, thermal abuse, and charging-system safety.
  • Experience with biocompatibility and skin-contact testing using the ISO 10993 family.
  • Experience with field telemetry and post-launch quality analytics.
  • Experience designing and executing HALT/HASS tests.

Sabi designs everyday products that are easier to use and more attractive, targeting items people rely on daily such as walking canes, pill boxes, and bathroom hardware. Their approach centers on user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing designs that improve comfort and function. How the products work: they emphasize ergonomic handles, simple mechanisms, reliable materials, and intuitive use—so users can operate items with less effort and more confidence. How Sabi differs from competitors: they prioritize combining practicality with beauty, moving away from plain, uninspired, hard-to-use designs toward objects people actually enjoy using. Their goal is to make daily tools smarter and more delightful to use, so everyday life feels smoother and more enjoyable.
