Responsibilities
Execute all aspects of civil site design, including complete plans, calculations, and reports for projects.
Coordinate and guide Designer I and Designer II design tasks to design and permit projects.
Direct design adaptations and modifications.
Complete design work and calculations using computer-aided software.
Lead project research, coordination, and communication with regulatory agencies to complete permitting.
Provide preliminary internal quality-control review of plans in coordination with the project lead.
Represent LandDesign in design team meetings and speak confidently about project understanding.
Participate in developing and enhancing daily processes that support project efficiency.
Address construction-related submittals and requests for information responses.
Participate in and may lead client and regulatory review meetings, and prepare meeting minutes.
Assist the project lead in meeting project financial and schedule requirements; assist with contract and change-order scoping and may assist with invoicing.
Collaborate with the internal design team, including landscape architects and planners, and with client consultant teams involved in the project.
Provide customer service to clients.
Work with minimal daily instructions and seek general instructions on new assignments.
Train and mentor Designer I and Designer II.
Desired Qualifications
A Professional Engineer license obtained or in progress is preferred.

As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for the next great designer; you. We are currently seeking a Senior Designer I to join our Civil Engineering team in Charlotte. Candidates being considered for this role will provide design and technical support to the design studio by applying comprehensive understanding, proficiency in the profession and exercising judgment within defined procedures to solve problems. Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency in project ownership and execution while guiding and mentoring Designers I and II.
