About the job

Requirements
  • Hands-on SQL and dashboarding experience, such as Apache Superset, Looker, Power BI, or similar, with the ability to validate and reconcile data from multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge of e-commerce operations data structures, including SKU/category, pricing and promotions, fulfilment and returns, and basic finance/reconciliation concepts such as GMV versus net revenue, margin, and accruals.
  • Experience with or exposure to marketplace Seller Centre data (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop) and finance data warehouse reporting is a strong plus.
  • Comfort working with third-party vendor datasets, including market intelligence and digital shelf data, and reconciling discrepancies between sources.
  • Genuine, hands-on experience using Claude or other generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini for analytical work, including generating and debugging SQL, summarizing large or messy datasets, and drafting stakeholder-ready insight narratives.
  • Comfort experimenting with AI agents or no/low-code workflow automation tools such as n8n to prototype proactive, always-on insight generation rather than one-off, on-request dashboard pulls.
  • Working prompt-engineering literacy: ability to obtain reliable, decision-useful analytical output from an AI tool and know when to trust it and when to verify it.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce marketplace operations, including pricing and promotions mechanics, fulfilment and returns, and category/SKU management.
  • Working understanding of finance and reconciliation concepts sufficient to bridge operational and financial reporting.
  • Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight across multiple country operations and finance teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge business/operations, finance, and technical/data audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Lead requirement-gathering conversations and workshops with e-commerce operations and finance stakeholders, and support country operations and finance leads across all six Southeast Asian markets.
  • Map how operations and finance data flows across PowerSell, the Finance Data Warehouse, and marketplace Seller Centre sources to identify what country teams need versus what they request.
  • Translate open-ended questions, such as why reported GMV does not match finance’s reconciled revenue for a market, into concrete, structured data requirements.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of operations and finance analytics requests, working in a hub-and-spoke model with the central Data Engineering/BI team in Vietnam and Indonesia.
  • Own end-to-end e-commerce operations analytics for SKU/category performance, pricing and promotions, marketplace P&L, and fulfilment/returns, reconciled against Finance Data Warehouse actuals.
  • Write SQL and build and validate dashboards, pairing with a Vietnam- or Indonesia-based analyst for heavier pipeline or engineering work.
  • Validate and reconcile operations and finance numbers against each other, escalating recurring data quality or reconciliation issues to the central Data Governance & Quality function.
  • Interpret third-party market intelligence and digital shelf vendor data for competitive and category context, accounting for each data source’s strengths and known limitations.
  • Present operations and finance insights and recommendations directly to country operations and finance leads and regional leadership, providing a point of view on next steps rather than only a finished dashboard.
  • Proactively surface non-obvious patterns and discrepancies across markets instead of only answering questions as they are asked.
  • Represent the operations and finance domain within Data & Analytics and feed requirements into the central data engineering roadmap, including the move from crawled Seller Centre data to official platform APIs for commercial and operational metrics.
  • Maintain operations- and finance-specific metric definitions, such as GMV, net revenue, and category margin, feeding them into the broader BI Business Glossary and semantic layer.
  • Document reconciliation methodology between operational and financial reporting to ensure consistency of definitions across all six markets.
  • Contribute to operations and finance data quality monitoring and flag recurring issues as candidates for automation.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude to shift operations and finance reporting from reactive, end-of-month reconciliation toward proactive, continuous insight, including automated anomaly and discrepancy detection and narrative summaries alongside the numbers.
  • Prototype and pilot AI-assisted analytics workflows, including automated reconciliation-variance alerts, pricing/margin anomaly detection, and natural-language querying over operations and finance data, in partnership with the central Data Engineering team.
  • Continuously evaluate where generative AI can replace manual, repetitive reconciliation and reporting work, and hand off validated use cases into Intrepid’s broader AI transformation and automation roadmap.
Desired Qualifications
  • Four to six years of combined experience across e-commerce operations analytics, finance analytics, business analysis, or data analysis roles.
  • Prior experience in e-commerce marketplace operations or finance reporting in Southeast Asia.
  • Experience covering multiple markets or countries remotely from a regional hub.
  • Exposure to finance reconciliation or data warehouse reporting systems.
  • Prior experience building or piloting an AI-assisted or automated reporting/insight workflow, even informally.

Intrepid Asia's Qaid Johar Gheewala on driving deep integration to unlock SEA e-commerce growth

Intrepid Asia's Qaid Johar Gheewala on driving deep integration to unlock SEA e-commerce growth. by Lyene Marie Darang Our What's NEXT in Marketing 2026 Conference Series returns to the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia - and for the first time in Thailand! Brace yourself for bold ideas driving the next marketing wave. Click here to learn more! Southeast Asia's e-commerce market may be one of the fastest-growing globally, but its fragmented landscape often makes regional expansion challenging for brands. Consisting of multiple countries, cultures, and behaviors, brands typically struggle to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and ground-level execution. With this in mind, Intrepid Asia's newly appointed regional head for performance marketing, Qaid Johar Gheewala, steps in, intending to move beyond marketplace management to becoming a holistic growth partner, not just for local brands but internationally. Prior to this, Qaid served as the head of performance media for Publicis Groupe from 2022 to 2025, with prior experiences as director, performance marketing specialist, and business executive for Entropia, Denstu Aegis Network, and WPP Media, respectively. Precision, agility, and connectivity When asked what pushed Qaid to take on the role, his response was centered on scaling growth. But beyond that, he pinpoints how essential it is for Intrepid Asia to drive growth with one element in mind: deep integration. For Qaid, this means ensuring that their proprietary technology and localised expertise become integral components of their clients' regional infrastructure. Hence, the SEA region is never one to be taken as a linear landscape. Stepping into the role, Qaid described the market landscape as dynamic, with these three priorities in mind: precision, agility, and connectivity. With this, he expounded on moving their company's brand reach to high-intent and data-driven performance, prioritising ROAS, or return on ad spend impact, as well as strengthening their connected commerce strategy & capabilities. This, according to him, would help them capture the 'discovery-based' shopping habits of their clients. This would eventually lead to ensuring that their presence across the SEA markets is seamlessly integrated, driving value despite market differences. "The opportunity lies in the shift toward 'Omni-channel 2.0.' It's no longer just about being on marketplaces (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop); it's about the convergence of digital touchpoints, offline-to-online (O2O) experiences, and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels," he emphasised. However, he also noted the increasing challenge of the complexity of data privacy, attribution, and inflated customer acquisition costs. To stay ahead, he shared how they developed 'customer-centric brand building' and 'performance media' strategies, powered by market intelligence to predict trends rather than react to them. Boots on the ground practice In the next 6 months, Qaid looks forward to building digital commerce capabilities and operational excellence. "The aim is to solidify our internal processes and deeply integrate our proprietary tools to ensure every marketing dollar our clients spend is converting into business outcomes." Looking further, he also aims to spend his first year in the role by successfully defining strategic indispensability in the SEA region. To do so, he shared, "When a senior marketer thinks of Southeast Asia, Intrepid Asia should be at the top of mind as the growth partner behind their regional success story." To encapsulate regional success, Qaid highlighted the importance of brand consistency, especially in navigating the 'glocal' challenge. "Brand consistency is maintained through a unified regional framework, adapted to clients' requirements, reporting with key metrics, quality of service, along with our core values." Qaid also highlighted how they exercise this by having their 'boots on the ground'. "Each of the six SEA markets has its own nuances in language, shopping behaviour, payment preferences, and festive seasons. We empower our local teams to 'translate' the global brand voice into the local vernacular, ensuring that while the brand's identity remains intact, its message resonates at a street-level," he elaborated. Looking ahead, Qaid remains focused on positioning Intrepid Asia as a key growth partner for brands expanding across Southeast Asia. Through deeper technology integration and stronger connected commerce capabilities, he aims to help brands navigate the region's complexities while unlocking long-term digital growth. With tighter regulations reshaping APAC's social-led financial sector, managing agent activity and misinformation have never been more critical.
