Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent direct experience with a production home builder or equivalent experience in a volume direct-sales organization outside the homebuilding industry.
  • A master's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • The employee may be required to hold a license with the state licensing authority.
  • A valid driver's license and insurance are required when an automobile is used for required travel.
  • At least two years of sales and/or marketing management experience are required.
  • At least two years of sales and/or marketing responsibilities are required.
  • The ability to use word-processing, email, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and newsletter software for advanced communications, reports, presentations, and database maintenance is required.
  • The ability to review, analyze, and interpret information and troubleshoot problems is required.
  • Knowledge of business English and the ability to communicate patiently and professionally with internal and external customers orally and in writing are required.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize several tasks without compromising work quality or deadlines is required.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required, along with the ability to learn new programs.
  • Knowledge of sales processes, procedures, and Sales PRO concepts is required.
  • Proven organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment are required.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
  • The employee must be able to hear and have sufficient vision to use office equipment.
  • The ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment is required.
  • The ability to drive an automobile for required travel is required.
  • The position requires occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management support for the sales team to help team members achieve sales and product-presentation goals.
  • Develop and provide ongoing training to ensure that team members are sufficiently skilled in sales techniques.
  • Collaborate as a member of the divisional management team.
  • Set and ensure achievement of sales objectives for each sales team member.
  • Hire, develop, and evaluate all divisional sales team members.
  • Conduct weekly divisional sales meetings to ensure that the sales process operates effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as a liaison with homebuyers and support their ongoing satisfaction.
  • Manage sales and marketing vendors effectively and efficiently.
  • Resolve issues related to mortgage or other administrative functions.
  • Develop and implement merchandising, advertising, product, and community marketing plans.
  • Develop and implement continual competitive data by gathering and analyzing research.
  • Merchandise model homes effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct market research that informs product-development and land-acquisition decisions.
  • Develop and maintain the divisional sales and marketing budget.
  • Work with peer managers to resolve issues and improve business performance.

  • Homebuilding industry experience is preferred.
  • Spanish language skills are helpful.
