  • The candidate must be able to delegate and coordinate work assignments with support staff.

  • The candidate must hold Registered Nurse state licensure or compact-state licensure upon hire.
  • The candidate must hold Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision for an individual or group of nursing students on a clinical unit from a locally affiliated school of nursing.
  • Provide clinical oversight in accordance with the scope and standards of a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Ensure compliance with Albany Medical Center policies, procedures, protocols, and safety standards for Registered Professional Nurses.
  • Ensure that each student participates in supervised patient care and complies with Albany Medical Center standards of practice for student nurses.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure student-to-patient assignments support optimal patient care and student learning.
  • Model the mission, vision, and values of Albany Medical Center and the affiliated School of Nursing.
  • Escalate patient-care concerns to the clinical team in a timely manner.
  • Escalate learner-related concerns appropriately to the applicable School of Nursing.
  • Meet regularly with students and preceptors to support learner growth.
  • Complete and submit student evaluations in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Four to six years of experience in educational program development and teaching is preferred.
