- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- At least 8 years of commercial electrical design and production experience, including conceptual design, schematic design, construction documents, and construction administration, is required.
- Experience designing electrical building systems, including lighting and power distribution systems, is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
- Proficiency with Revit and building information modeling (BIM) tools is required.
- The candidate must have a strong interest in the design-build approach and collaboration with architectural and construction professionals.
- The candidate must be able to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills are required.
- Initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to learn are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Lead electrical system design for commercial building projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security and access control, and communication systems.
- Provide leadership and coordination with project team members from project inception through completion.
- Develop schematic design, design development, and construction drawings and documents.
- Perform required design and code compliance calculations.
- Collaborate with architectural and construction teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Review shop drawings and respond to construction-related questions.
- Perform site inspections and observe field construction at key project milestones.
- Verify completed systems meet design and performance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and designers.
