Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience performing technical, administrative, or clerical duties in a related field is required.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain all required insurance licenses.
  • The employee must recognize discrepancies within policies and procedures and respond appropriately.
  • The employee must produce highly accurate work and organize and prioritize work to meet strict deadlines.
  • The employee must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
  • The employee must be proficient in using computers, mobile devices, software, and cloud-based systems and applications.
  • The employee must be able to perform basic office tasks in a typical office setting, work at a computer for extended periods, and lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • The employee must work during established business hours and may occasionally work weekends or evenings.
  • The employee must be available for occasional overnight, extended, and day travel.
  • The employee must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is unavailable.
Responsibilities
  • Support Insurance Consultants in the sales and service of crop insurance policies.
  • Evaluate assigned workflow documents and research minimally complex insurance topics.
  • Collect and submit crop insurance documents and enter data into Approved Insurance Provider systems.
  • Follow up on applications, reporting, claims, and conservation compliance while maintaining customer service standards.
  • Review insurance documents for completeness, accuracy, and program compliance.
  • Enter, map, and transmit insurance data to Approved Insurance Providers using their programs and systems.
  • Participate in the processing team and complete an equitable workload to meet processing deadlines.
  • Operate within Federal Crop Insurance Corporation and Farm Credit Administration authorities, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Improve insurance operations and documentation processes through continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Independently service small insurance policies in the book of business with limited supervision.
  • Mentor other insurance team members.
  • Perform other assigned functions.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred, or a relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with crop and livestock insurance products, policies, and provisions is preferred.
  • An appropriate insurance license is preferred.
