Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the wind industry, including a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience, is required.
  • A valid non-commercial driver’s license or commercial driver’s license is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after receiving proper instructions is required.
  • Ability to address problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations is required.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug/alcohol screening is required.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds is required.
  • Ability to free-climb 300 feet multiple times per day while wearing more than 25 pounds of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions is required.
  • Ability to rescue a teammate anywhere in a tower during an emergency is required.
  • Employees climbing wind turbines must use a Personal Fall Arrest System and remain within its 309-pound maximum combined weight capacity; personal body weight may not exceed 260 pounds based on standard equipment weight.
Responsibilities
  • Direct all wind farm operations at the site for maintenance and repair, with focus on customer relations, performance, and profitability.
  • Recognize wind turbine error codes and report problems appropriately to engineering colleagues.
  • Manage timely financial reporting, maintenance and repair, and turbine availability.
  • Direct the site team’s performance within the assigned contractual scope for the customer.
  • Develop site personnel and subordinates and ensure a high capture rate on out-of-scope service opportunities.
  • Work with engineering to develop strategies for improved maintenance, diagnostics, and operations that provide additional customer value and reduce service costs.
  • Work with internal team members to develop and implement operational feedback for configuration, planned and unplanned maintenance, and financials.
  • Own the project’s financial performance, including profit and loss.
  • Complete routine reports, correspondence, service orders, checklists, advanced work packages, and other relevant paperwork.
  • Serve as the direct line manager for all site personnel.
  • Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Manage site customer relations, the site budget, site technicians, reporting, service logs, and overall optimization of turbine performance.
