Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of job-related experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or other professional licensure in the field of expertise is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for project design is required.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a project team is required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and time management skills are required.
  • The ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external sources is required.
  • Proficiency in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Manage bridge and highway projects for local municipalities, PennDOT, and other clients.
  • Manage services generating up to $1 million in revenue.
  • Create and track client proposals, including scopes, technical and price proposals, statements of interest, amendments, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare workload forecasting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, survey, permitting, and other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate project contract agreements and sign agreements within allotted parameters.
  • Identify new markets, develop leads and opportunities, perform business development activities, and pursue new geographies.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and subconsultants.
  • Direct, mentor, and guide team members and staff; provide annual performance evaluations and career development plans.
  • Manage project risk in accordance with company policy.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverable quality and reduce design errors and omissions.
Desired Qualifications
  • PennDOT experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and OpenBridge Designer is a plus.
