About the job

Requirements
  • 8–12+ years in medical device regulatory affairs, with hands-on U.S. FDA experience across the full device lifecycle.
  • Direct experience with connected hardware and software, including Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), rather than only single-product or paper-based devices.
  • Experience auditing and building a quality management system under 21 CFR 820 and/or ISO 13485, ideally from an early-stage company.
  • Experience with SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance programs, either owning them directly or working closely with the teams that own them.
  • A track record leading or directly supporting FDA submissions, inspections, and audits, with outcomes the candidate can discuss.
  • Ability to be the sole regulatory owner at a scaling company and work hands-on with submissions and documentation, not only strategy.
  • Ability to describe a track record of documenting and escalating compliance concerns and maintaining rigor under business pressure, including a specific example of what was flagged, what happened when overruled, and what happened next.
  • Fluency in FDA submission pathways, inspection processes, and post-market obligations.
  • Experience building quality management systems and regulatory processes from scratch.
  • Ability to maintain documentation and quality standards under fast-moving business conditions.
  • Comfort owning SOC 2 and HIPAA as ongoing programs.
  • Ability to work with Product, Engineering, Quality, and Clinical teams to implement regulatory rigor at the design stage.
  • Ability to translate international requirements into practical guidance for a U.S.-first organization.
  • Ability to work with incomplete information and take responsibility for outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Set the regulatory roadmap and define U.S. regulatory pathways for new hardware and software features, maintaining release schedules.
  • Lead FDA submissions, respond to FDA correspondence, and own inspections and audits from start to finish.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality management system structuring and implementation and regulatory projects, working directly with regulatory counsel.
  • Conduct or oversee an independent internal assessment of the current regulatory and quality structure.
  • Own and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Own U.S. FDA regulatory strategy, including device classification, pathway selection, and 510(k), De Novo, and PMA submissions for connected hardware and companion software, including SaMD.
  • Instrument the quality management system under 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485, including design controls, document control, and CAPA; build the playbook and advise cross-functional teams.
  • Direct and audit work performed by distributed engineering and quality assurance teams, including offshore teams, while based in the U.S. to interface directly with FDA.
  • Run SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance programs.
  • Own post-market surveillance, adverse event reporting, and complaint handling.
  • Report regulatory and quality health directly to the CEO and an independent board member on a defined cadence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for FDA inspections and prepare the team and documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Advise Product and Engineering on regulatory impacts of design changes, new features, and hardware revisions.
  • Partner with global teams on international standards and align documentation and quality systems with standards used by international teams and partners where relevant.
  • Continue ongoing CE compliance and enable other international regulatory clearances based on business goals.
  • Translate submission status, audit readiness, and certification timelines into clear updates for the CEO/Founder and stakeholders.
  • Nurture and build the team of regulatory affairs specialists.
  • Maintain physical presence in the U.S. and travel periodically to India.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to global regulatory teams or international standards.
  • Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC), U.S. Medical Devices track (RAPS).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Biomedical Auditor (CBA).
  • ISO 13485 Lead Auditor training from Exemplar Global, BSI, TUV, or equivalent.
  • AAMI training on 21 CFR 820 or ISO 14971.
  • Experience with international standards, including ISO or MDR-adjacent practices, supporting offshore engineering teams.

About the company

Dozee provides remote patient monitoring with a contactless AI-powered system that tracks vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, sleep patterns, and stress without contacting the patient. A non-contact sensor gathers data in the patient’s environment, and AI analyzes it to deliver real-time health insights and early warnings of potential issues. It is designed to be integrated into hospitals for continuous, non-intrusive monitoring and to support clinical decisions, forming a hospital-to-home continuum of care. Its differentiator is the focus on passively collected, sleep-oriented data and AI-driven alerts to detect deterioration earlier than some invasive or manual monitoring methods. Goal: improve patient outcomes by enabling continuous observation and proactive care.

KIMS Sunshine Begumpet Launches AI-Powered Smart Wards

KIMS Sunshine Begumpet launches ai-powered Smart Wards. KIMS Sunshine Hospitals, Begumpet, has launched its 'Enhanced Patient Safety with Smart Wards' program in partnership with Dozee, a global pioneer in AI-powered Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning Systems (EWS). This initiative represents a major leap in hospital care, bringing AI-enabled continuous monitoring beyond ICUs into general wards. The Smart Ward Program aims to enhance patient safety, clinical vigilance, and operational efficiency across KIMS Sunshine Hospitals. AI-Powered Smart Wards for continuous monitoring. Under this program, selected wards are equipped with Dozee's patented contactless RPM and EWS technology. The system tracks key vitals - heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, SpO[2], and temperature - through a thin sensor placed beneath the mattress. Its AI engine analyzes the data in real time, generating early warning alerts that notify clinicians hours before visible signs of patient deterioration. As a result, medical teams can respond faster, reduce preventable complications, and save more lives. KIMS Sunshine strengthens its digital transformation. Mr. Sudhaker Jadhav, Chief Operating Officer, KIMS Sunshine Hospitals, said, "Our mission is to make world-class healthcare accessible and efficient. The Smart Ward Program sets a new benchmark for safety and responsiveness. This is not just about adopting technology - it's about creating a smarter, safer healthcare ecosystem where every patient receives ICU-level vigilance." The initiative is part of KIMS Sunshine's broader digital transformation strategy, reinforcing the group's position as a leader in AI-enabled healthcare delivery in India. Patient deterioration often occurs silently. Continuous monitoring helps Hybiz TV LLP detect small changes before they turn into emergencies. With Dozee's AI, Hybiz TV LLP can intervene earlier, reduce Code Blue events, and improve patient outcomes." Currently, Dozee's AI technology is deployed across 300+ hospitals in India, the USA, Tanzania, and the UAE, establishing it as a global leader in smart healthcare infrastructure. Bridging a critical healthcare gap. By introducing continuous monitoring in general wards, KIMS Sunshine addresses one of healthcare's biggest challenges - missed early warning signs. Moreover, studies show that many cardiac arrests and ICU transfers start in wards without constant monitoring. Therefore, this program serves as a scalable model for improving outcomes and optimizing staff resources, especially in high-patient-load hospitals.
