Requirements
- Experience with centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
- Ability to work independently in the field in customer-facing service roles.
- Willingness to support a drug-free work environment and undergo DISA random drug testing.
- Willingness to work at heights, walk on high-elevation grating, and use stairs with or without accommodation.
- A high school diploma or general education degree.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Tear down and rebuild pumps and compressors.
- Service compressors and provide preventive and corrective field mechanical service.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components and equipment to ensure proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform field maintenance tasks, including equipment troubleshooting, installation and removal, and repair.
- Perform machine-tool work using lathes, mills, and saws as required.
- Remove and clean compressor rotors and replace and install gearboxes.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Inspect equipment by checking bearing clearances, rotor conditions, and related conditions.
- Install, perform preventive maintenance on, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul various types of compressors according to manufacturer instructions and company policies.
- Perform compressor repairs involving disassembly, including mechanical seal removal.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Complete production and quality logs and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Send reports to the supervisor.
- Update job knowledge through training opportunities, technical publications, seminars, and workshops.
- Complete quarterly and annual work-related assessments, including quizzes, hands-on tests, and verbal protocols.
- Perform other duties as required.
