Requirements
  • Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience, including dishwashing, preparation and cooking, and expediting experience.
  • If the experience requirements are not met, the position can start as a dishwasher and/or prep cook at an entry level with career growth potential.
  • ServSafe training certification is preferred, or the employee must complete training and certification provided by Cinépolis before going on the line.
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume.
  • Ability to follow instructions on the safe use of chemical and cleaning materials.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach, and handle food products frequently.
  • Ability to communicate with support personnel and management and work effectively with supervisors and coworkers in a high-volume setting.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations and issues in a positive manner.
  • Flexible working hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent hand use and reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and assisted lifting of 25 to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through the point-of-sale system.
  • Make only items ordered through the point-of-sale system.
  • Accommodate special requests whenever possible with management approval.
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff so food is served simultaneously, at high quality, and promptly.
  • Remake items when instructed by a supervisor or manager.
  • Follow food-handler safety guidelines, including maintaining safe food temperatures, labeling food with dates, and preventing cross-contamination by washing hands and using correct tools and surfaces.
  • Wash dishes and clean the work area during and at the end of each shift.
  • Stock kitchen areas with dry products and preparation materials and restock dry goods throughout and at the end of each shift.
  • Use the first-in, first-out system to keep food fresh and eliminate waste.
  • Maintain waste logs for discarded items, including expired items and dishes made incorrectly or sent back.
  • Keep the supervisor and Kitchen Manager updated on inventory levels.
  • Work safely, including using cutting gloves, requesting assistance when moving heavy items, and staying hydrated in heat.
  • Lock and secure food and equipment.
  • Follow opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
