About the job

Requirements
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills and experience with Google Cloud Platform or an equivalent cloud provider.
  • Deep Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster configuration, node pool autoscaling, workload identity, private database connectivity, and network policies.
  • Experience with Helm, including shared service templates, environment-specific overrides, inheritance patterns, and chart libraries.
  • Experience authoring and debugging complex continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline configurations.
  • Experience operating observability systems with Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry, including distributed-system instrumentation and actionable dashboards.
  • Understanding of secrets management at scale, automated credential rotation, Kubernetes secret synchronization, identity provider configuration, and zero-trust patterns.
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including load balancing, TLS termination, DNS, and authentication proxies.
  • Experience optimizing container builds for speed and security through multi-stage builds, layer caching, image hardening, and image-size reduction.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing query latency, pod startup times, resource utilization, and network throughput.
  • Experience maintaining developer-experience tooling, local development environments, task automation, and environment bootstrapping.
Responsibilities
  • Author and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules for cloud networking, managed Kubernetes clusters, databases, caching, and container registries.
  • Design and manage Kubernetes cluster configurations across development, demo, staging, and production environments.
  • Build and optimize Helm charts for a shared service template consumed by multiple services.
  • Own the continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline architecture, including multi-stage builds, file-change-based conditional triggers, and deployment orchestration.
  • Implement and maintain the observability stack across all services using metrics, traces, and logs.
  • Manage the secrets lifecycle and credential rotation process, including automated synchronization to Kubernetes.
  • Configure and maintain production networking, including load balancing, TLS termination, DNS, and authentication proxies.
  • Optimize the container build pipeline for speed and security.
  • Continuously profile and optimize platform performance across query latency, pod startup times, resource utilization, and network throughput.
  • Maintain developer-experience tooling, including local development environments, task automation, and environment bootstrapping.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating Temporal or a similar workflow orchestration system in production.
  • Familiarity with graph databases such as Neo4j and object storage such as MinIO or S3-compatible storage on Kubernetes.
  • Experience administering Keycloak or similar identity providers, including realm configuration and OpenID Connect management.
  • Background in cloud cost optimization, including committed-use discounts, node-pool right-sizing, and spot instances.
  • Familiarity with GitOps patterns and tools such as ArgoCD and Flux.
  • Understanding of public key infrastructure, including certificate management, mutual TLS, certificate-authority hierarchies, and trust-chain validation.
  • Experience with hybrid networking between cloud and on-premises environments.

About the company

Lumbra builds agentic frameworks and an orchestration layer that connects multiple AI tools for the U.S. Intelligence Community, enabling autonomous AI agents to collaborate at machine speed across different security classifications. Its platform provides a common control layer to coordinate diverse tools and securely execute cross-tool workflows. The team combines former intelligence operators with MIT-educated engineers, delivering domain-specific, security-conscious orchestration through a direct B2G approach with partners like the CIA and JSOC. Its goal is to speed up and unify intelligence processing by letting autonomous agents work together across tools and classification boundaries.

What believers are saying

  • Lumbra shows active 2026 engagements with the IC and CDAO.
  • Costanoa disclosed seed financing in March 2026, validating investor demand.
  • June 2026 Agent Network gives Lumbra a live path into Pentagon adoption.

What critics are saying

  • Agent Network is still unfielded; testing, evaluation, and oversight delay revenue.
  • Palantir owns Maven's targeting backbone, squeezing Lumbra into a dependent layer.
  • Governance failures across classification boundaries can kill deployment after one incident.

What makes Lumbra unique

  • CIA, JSOC, and MIT operators built Lumbra for classified-agent orchestration.
  • June 2026 Agent Network positions Lumbra beside Palantir in Pentagon workflows.
  • Costanoa backs a seed-stage platform, not a generic defense app.
