The Program Specialist assists in administering the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) in line with program grant and regulatory requirements.
The Program Specialist position coordinates with and oversees WIC vendor activities.
This position serves as a liaison for the State WIC Program regarding authorization of WIC retailers.
Perform on-site visits and pre-authorization inspections at WIC vendors.
Process program complaints.
Work with Nutrition Services to support program integrity.
Review and monitor WIC redemption data.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
This position is open until filled with frequent screening of applicants. The first screening of candidates will take place on May 13, 2026.
