About the job

Requirements
  • Five to eight years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • Deep hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster lifecycle, troubleshooting, networking, storage, and role-based access control.
  • Production experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting; familiarity with Mimir, Loki, Tempo, or Thanos; and understanding of OpenTelemetry collectors, exporters, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with ArgoCD, Flux, or similar GitOps tools; building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent; and artifact management with Artifactory, Nexus, or similar tools.
  • Experience using Terraform and/or Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, including systemd, networking, storage, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience using Go or Python for automation, tooling, and scripting, and ability to read and write YAML and Helm charts.
  • Ability to work directly with trading desks and development teams and explain Kubernetes concepts to people who are not Kubernetes experts.
Responsibilities
  • Manage Kubernetes platform operations and evolution, including cluster lifecycle management via Cluster API, fleet-wide upgrades, bare-metal provisioning, CNI networking, storage, autoscaling, and disaster-recovery planning.
  • Operate and scale the on-premises observability stack, including Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Grafana, the OpenTelemetry Collector fleet, and Alertmanager; onboard teams, build dashboards, tune alerts, and scale ingestion for growing workloads.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps infrastructure using GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments, and Artifactory for artifact management; build reusable CI components, improve secrets integration, and support trading desks onboarding to the platform.
  • Build and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration management, and self-service tooling so teams can make changes without depending on DevOps for every change.
  • Work directly with trading desks and development teams to onboard them to the platforms; write runbooks, contribute to documentation, and help build a sustainable support model as the platform scales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working at a trading firm and understanding the urgency and reliability requirements of systems supporting profit-and-loss-impacting workloads.
  • Experience with Kubeflow, Airflow, or machine-learning pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience with advanced Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, network policies, and service mesh.
  • Experience with Kafka or event-streaming platforms.
  • Experience operating on-premises infrastructure, including bare-metal servers, IPAM, and storage systems.
  • Thoughtful use of AI coding assistants and interest in AI-assisted operational tooling.
  • Experience with Cluster API, bare-metal provisioning, or multi-cluster management.

RWX raises $12M Series A to scale dev cloud platform for AI-driven software engineering

RWX, a dev cloud platform for AI-driven software engineering, has raised $12 million in Series A funding led by Hyde Park Venture Partners. Existing investor Quiet Capital participated, alongside The O.H.I.O. Fund R1 Capital, DV, and angel investors including Bryan Johnson and Jenkins creator Kohsuke Kawaguchi. The Columbus-based company addresses bottlenecks in validating AI-generated code. As AI agents write code faster than humans, traditional CI pipelines and test suites struggle to keep pace. RWX's platform helps engineering teams validate software more quickly through content-based caching and infrastructure designed specifically for AI-driven development. Customers include Honeycomb, Verkada, nCino, and Coalesce. The company will use the funding to expand its team and accelerate platform development. RWX was founded by CEO Dan Manges and CTO Tommy Graves, who previously cofounded Root.
