IT Support Technician
About the job
- At least 3 years of experience in systems and network support.
- Security+ certification or an equivalent certification compliant with Department of Defense 8570 IAT Level II is required.
- CCNA or Network+ certification is required.
- ITIL Foundation certification is required, or the candidate must be able to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
- Experience providing LAN and WAN support is required.
- Experience with firewall administration is required.
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of Microsoft server installation, server roles, Active Directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance are required.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense projects is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels are required.
- Ability to provide support in a 24/7/365 environment, including occasional coverage outside the assigned shift and after-hours, weekend, or holiday support on a rotational basis, is required.
- Ability to travel to continental United States sites for temporary duty support is required.
- U.S. citizenship and a current Secret clearance are required.
- The selected candidate must undergo a U.S. government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Provide Tier 1 enterprise IT help desk technical support to AFCENT users.
- Troubleshoot and implement solutions to resolve incidents and problems on supported systems, network infrastructure, voice and video systems, enterprise-level routers, switches, servers, firewalls, proxies, and caching arrays.
- Monitor system and network performance metrics and trends to identify substandard performance and anomalies.
- Escalate complex systems and network performance, bandwidth, and security issues and incidents to Tier 2 and Tier 3 senior engineers or subject-matter experts for analysis and resolution.
- Perform Local Registration Authority duties.
- Provide LAN support and WAN enterprise support.
