Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical or controls engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Ability to create and interpret electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong basic knowledge of electrical and control system design.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and building information modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Plant 3D, and Revit.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and codes such as UL, NEC, and NEMA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, including customers, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately and work proactively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Develop models of panels, electrical conduits, cable trays, and instruments based on the piping skid model.
  • Develop family files for panels, electrical conduits, cable trays, and instruments as needed.
  • Review customer system specifications and complete the Master Project List.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions.
  • Update and manage model data, including attribute information.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams for data integration.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards and modeling guidelines.
  • Support quantity take-off and shop drawing preparation.

Kurita opens engineering centre in Arizona to boost water treatment support across North America

Kurita America has opened a new Engineering Center in Phoenix, Arizona, featuring a 10,900-square-foot warehouse and 3,800-square-foot office. The facility strengthens the company's ability to deliver engineering services and operational support across North America. The centre supports engineering, project delivery, technical training and field service throughout the lifecycle of water treatment facilities. It will house multidisciplinary teams specialising in mechanical, electrical and BIM design, alongside quality assurance, project management and procurement support. The expansion responds to growing project volumes and increasing demand for localised support beyond initial equipment delivery. (KCI). The integrated entity will be known as Kurita Canada Inc., headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, and will serve customers throughout Canada. KTWM initially joined the Kurita Group in April 2021.
