Member of Technical Staff

Janitor is building AI interactive entertainment for millions of people. Every day our users create characters, worlds, stories, and relationships with AI, and making that feel fast, reliable, and alive takes serious infrastructure. We are looking for an engineer who wants to help own that whole stack.

We run more of our own than most companies our size. The direction is more owned infrastructure, not more AWS glue.

What you'll work on

• Product features wired deep into our AI stack

• Making the whole thing faster, cheaper, simpler, and harder to kill

Infra problems here rarely look like infra problems. They show up as product bugs, a slow page, a delayed job, a websocket reconnect, a cache path that worked until it did not. The job is to understand the system from the user experience down to the machine, then make it better.

You might be a good fit if

• You care about the product, not just the infrastructure

• You like hard systems problems with real users on the other side

• You have strong taste and hate overbuilt software

• You can take a vague problem and turn it into something real

• You learn fast and will own things you have never touched before

Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, or GPUs helps, but it is not a checklist, we care more about how you think and what you have built than how well your resume matches our tools.
