Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, organize, and manage the Office of Ocean Exploration and Research field season timeline of events, including required permits and consultations, and document projects and expeditions for compliance with Essential Fish Habitats, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and the Endangered Species Act.
  • Develop and refine operational models and procedures for Office of Ocean Exploration and Research field operations and the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, including compliance, permitting processes, analyses, and action assessments.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to plan explorations and expand the program portfolio regarding environmental compliance; provide technical input for programmatic documentation, including consultation packages, and refine related procedures and processes.
  • Execute technical services for the planning, coordination, and implementation of expeditions and projects, including documenting and implementing field operations models and procedures.
  • Organize field activities to ensure project-specific science, education, outreach, and data management goals are met and policies and procedures are completed.
  • Coordinate and develop field season documentation and organize and manage equipment used for project and expedition documentation.
