  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced BIM/VDC personnel.
  • References, background check, drug-screen testing, and a valid driver's license are required.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of electrical BIM/VDC, Revit modeling, electrical construction, drafting, or related experience; demonstrated competency, project experience, and quality of work may also be considered when evaluating position level.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical construction systems, installation practices, and basic National Electrical Code implications; intermediate to advanced Revit proficiency and working knowledge of Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, and multidisciplinary coordination workflows are expected.
  • Ability to take verbal and written direction and turn it into working constructability documents with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Independently develop and maintain electrical BIM models and construction documentation for assigned systems or project areas from design through construction and record-document phases.
  • Model assigned complex electrical systems, including normal/emergency power, lighting and controls, grounding, raceway, cable tray, equipment connections, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Produce coordinated installation plans, equipment plans, raceway plans, penetration plans, shop drawings, sections, details, schedules, AutoCAD backgrounds, and other project documentation.
  • Review and incorporate RFIs, submittals, design revisions, approved coordination changes, and verified field conditions into models and drawings.
  • Maintain model organization, worksets, views, filters, naming conventions, file structure, model element data, schedules, and project information within assigned scope.
  • Develop deliverables according to project-defined LOD, BIM Execution Plan requirements, company standards, and project milestones.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination and independently resolve routine clash, routing, and constructability issues within assigned scope.
  • Run or assist with clash detection, create coordination reports, track assigned issues, and communicate design or constructability concerns to the project team.
  • Evaluate equipment clearances, raceway spacing, power/telecommunications separation, manufacturer requirements, supports, penetrations, installation access, and construction sequencing.
  • Recognize issues involving code, engineering, or design intent and escalate them to the appropriate BIM leadership, Designer, Engineer, or project authority.
  • Participate in BIM setup, standards, model orientation, geo-positioning, and coordination workflows as assigned.
  • Develop model-based support and hanger layouts, racks, spools, assemblies, tagging, schedules, fabrication information, and associated installation details as assigned.
  • Support field personnel with model-based clarification, layout, routing, installation information, and constructability coordination.
  • Incorporate verified field conditions, redlines, and available scan/point-cloud information into coordinated project documentation and as-built updates.
  • Support model-based material schedules, quantities, fabrication information, and project turnover requirements.
  • Perform self-checks and peer-level reviews for model accuracy, constructability, data consistency, documentation quality, and standards compliance.
  • Maintain clean, organized models and project files suitable for coordination, fabrication, construction, and field use.
  • Maintain and publish assigned BIM/VDC models, views, drawings, and project documentation according to established ACC/BIM 360 sharing and revision-control procedures.
  • Identify and proactively resolve model inconsistencies and documentation conflicts within assigned scope.
  • Provide technical guidance to Electrical BIM/VDC Specialist I personnel on modeling standards, detailing practices, project workflows, and coordination best practices.
