  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics, or an equivalent four-year technical degree.
  • Ten years of experience in heavy industrial, thermal power, or nuclear industry work involving plant instrumentation application, control and monitoring system design, digital control systems, networking, and data communications architecture definition, including requisition engineering, implementation, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ten years of experience in application engineering, field installation, and test engineering of systems, equipment, and components, including selection, sizing calculations, and equipment qualification to diverse industry standards.
  • Seven years of experience in nuclear industry product family system design, plant engineering, maintenance, modifications, new plant design certification, and licensing.
  • Seven years of combined experience in requirements management, system design, application or requisition engineering, analysis, modeling and simulation, change and configuration management, collaboration, document management, and technical reviews related to nuclear or process instrumentation, data acquisition, monitoring, control, electrical distribution systems, and equipment.
  • Five years of experience performing independent or preferably team-based system design or technical reviews, including interfacing with requirements management, independent verification and validation, and systems and software quality assurance organizations.
  • Five years of knowledge, skill, and experience with PC and desktop engineering productivity software, computer-aided design or analysis and modeling, and project collaboration tools.
  • Ability to commute to the Wilmington, North Carolina work location using personal transportation and meet required working hours.
  • Ability to work in a shop-floor environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. Person status is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the team responsible for Control and Monitoring and DCS development associated with plant cross-disciplinary and cross-systems simulation, focusing on work planning, technical approach, design assurance, and execution excellence on new-build and modernization projects.
  • Lead integrated approaches and solutions across plant disciplines or specialties involving Control and Monitoring, DCS systems, and instrumentation associated with plant cross-disciplinary and cross-systems simulation.
  • Coordinate matrixed cross-disciplinary engineering teams to assess work products or support requests; analyze plant system requirements, operations and maintenance goals, possible I&C and DCS architectures, equipment selection, and phased implementations; develop clarifications and exceptions; and prepare proposals with scope, conformance matrices, risk scorecards, work plans, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Lead preparation of high- through low-level work planning, scheduling, and resource loading across lifecycle phases of Engineer-Procure-Construct or new product introduction using applicable practices, guides, and tools.
  • Support the project engineer or manager in understanding execution metrics and status, issues, risks, mitigation or recovery plans, and proactively identify changes in scope.
  • Drive compliance with scope, work plans, budgets, overall schedules, applicable design processes, and discipline-specific practices and tools, including design and technical reviews.
  • Lead day-to-day operations and follow-up to ensure deliverables are produced and commitments are met on specification, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to support integrated plant design objectives.
  • Collaborate with project management, project engineering, support functions, and others to drive project completion.
  • Identify, confirm, document, and lead resolution of technical, risk, and other emergent issues.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to ensure system designs and deliverables comply with requirements from design release to manufacturing or supplier through production, validation, installation, and commissioning tests.
  • Support strategy, plan, statement-of-work preparation, and implementation of resource loading and mobilization involving employees, staff-augmentation contractors, suppliers, partners, and other GEV entities.
  • Assist with hosting learning sessions and knowledge-capture and transfer initiatives.
  • Champion conformance with regulations and guides, standard review plans, branch technical positions, interim staff guidance, information notices and summaries, bulletins, orders, applicable nuclear guidance, and industry standards.
  • Use tools for requirements, design, change, configuration, and document management.
  • Support simplification, continuous process improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Champion nuclear safety culture and ensure compliance with GEH policies, the quality management system, and the corrective action program.
  • Deliver work with integrity, safety, security, quality, and on-time output.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics, or an equivalent four-year technical degree.
  • Professional Engineer licensure.
  • Experience with scheduling, planning, and tracking activities using tools such as Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera P6, or JIRA.
  • Experience in nuclear analog and digital instrumentation, control, monitoring, electric power systems, and field engineering, with working knowledge of safety-related, significant-to-safety, and non-safety-related systems; hardware; software; theory of operation; instrument set point and calibration methodologies; and equipment environmental and seismic testing and qualification.
  • Experience in U.S. and international nuclear regulatory affairs, licensing, laws, rules, regulations, and guidance applicable to power and test reactors.
  • Competency in IEEE and IEC industry standards and quality standards.
  • Competency in industrial controls networking, data communications architectures, and protocols.
  • Competency in modeling, simulation, and test data collection tools such as WSC 3KEYMASTER, GE Mark VIe virtual controller, and Siemens SIMATIC S7 series.
  • Experience delivering commitments to specification, budget, and schedule.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and identifying, influencing, and implementing improved processes.
  • Technical writing skills focused on requirements and design documents.
  • Working knowledge and experience using Lean/Agile, Six Sigma, design for reliability, failure modes and effects analysis, and design-to-cost techniques and tools.

Hillhouse invests in Quest Global to accelerate engineering growth

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Quest Global specialises in aerospace, automotive, energy and semiconductor sectors. CEO Ajit Prabhu said the investment validates the company's differentiated value proposition and growth strategy. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
