Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Property Management, or Construction Management.
  • Two to five years of experience in cemetery development or property management.
  • Hands-on experience in AutoCAD Release 25, Microsoft Office 2011, Adobe Suites, Bluebeam, and Project Management and Scheduling Software.
  • Experience in current cemetery garden, mausoleum, lawn crypt, and road design construction and interment industry standards.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Understanding of project development and management including design, cost estimation, construction documents, Request for Proposals, vendor management, construction oversight, quality assurance, permits, and record retention.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and report maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of land survey techniques.
  • Ability to read and draw maps.
  • Mathematical skills with the ability to calculate ratios and percentages.
  • Valid California driver's license and the ability to safely drive company vehicles.
Responsibilities
  • Produce AutoCAD site plans, project base sheets, sales maps, and graphic exhibits.
  • Produce record maps and assist with filing with County and Agencies per State regulations.
  • Manage computer filing, reproduction, scanning, and archiving of maps, plans, and project files.
  • Maintain and update all related regulatory compliance binders.
  • Assist the Director of Cemetery Development with project research and development, construction cost estimates, and budgetary proposals.
  • Coordinate the construction of custom projects from conceptualization to build out.
  • Coordinate with design consultants during design phases, permitting processes, and construction.
  • Review Requests for Information and submittals for Director of Cemetery Development input and approval.
  • Provide monthly reports containing budgets, change orders, potential risks, contingency and allowance reconciliations, and construction schedules.
  • Manage and report on project change management programs to keep team members and management informed.
  • Assist the Director of Cemetery Development in reviewing, approving, and negotiating contracts with design and construction members.
  • Conduct systematic overviews of construction activities related to scheduling, quality, costs, design, and construction methodology.
  • Assist in estimating, budgeting, design plans, specifications, contracting, scheduling, negotiations, purchasing, value engineering, and quality control.
  • Identify, evaluate, research, and disseminate new construction technology.
  • Monitor the project scope management process for change requests.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the property system, including field measurements and new lawn openings.
  • Perform Heritage Management Information System sales price, cost, and restrictions maintenance.
  • Upload and update inventory in the Heritage Management Information System and assist in property management.
  • Maintain sales maps in the Heritage Management Information System, Sales Cloud, and Library.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and corporate standards and review deliverables.
  • Successfully complete company training programs.

A shakeup in the local funeral home business has led to two well-known funeral directors changing locations. Dean Gemmiti and Carl Brown have joined the Opus Tribute Group at Highland Park Funeral Centre after a combined 80 years at Comstock/Kaye Life Celebration Centre. The move comes after Houston-based Service Corporation International (SCI), owners of Comstock/Kaye, purchased Ashburnham Funeral Home and Reception Centre and Community Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services.
