Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a related Information Technology role is required.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL are required.
- Experience with database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and high-availability configurations is required.
- A strong understanding of database security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning is required.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation tasks is required.
- The ability to design and implement database solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, and data analytics is required.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or other required systems.
- Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery testing to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Develop, implement, and maintain database security policies and practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Conduct database tuning, capacity planning, performance planning, and performance analysis to ensure optimal operation of database systems.
- Troubleshoot database issues, including performance problems, and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database structures, queries, and stored procedures for application support.
- Ensure database systems have the latest patches and upgrades to maintain security and functionality.
- Create and maintain database documentation, including schema diagrams, configuration settings, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with other Information Technology teams to plan, implement, and support new database-related technologies and innovations.
Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate certification is preferred.
- Oracle Certified Professional certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL is a plus.
