Requirements
  • A current New Hampshire or compact-state Licensed Practical Nurse license is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation training is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required, or current enrollment in an accredited program leading to registered-nurse licensure together with a current New Hampshire Licensed Practical Nurse license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the nursing process in person, by telephone through telephone triage, and through telehealth modalities under the supervision of registered nurses and providers, including performing nursing assessments and interventions and evaluating progress toward defined care goals.
  • Participate in designing and implementing plans of care with an interdisciplinary team including registered nurses, physicians, advanced-practice nurses, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, and other health professionals.
  • Educate patients on self-management activities, medications, nutrition, health, and wellness based on collaboratively designed plans of care.
  • Document participation in the nursing process accurately and in detail in the medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and vaccines; perform point-of-care testing; and collect and handle specimens within the scope of practice established by the applicable state Nurse Practice Act.
