RWS launches Tridion agentic platform for governed AI agents in enterprise content

RWS has launched a public preview of its Tridion agentic platform, enabling regulated enterprises to build and deploy AI agents within governed content workflows. The platform addresses a costly challenge: when regulations or specifications change, teams must identify affected content before updating it. Tridion Connect detects external changes and traces them to relevant content, whilst Tridion Agent automates preparation of proposed updates for human review. The system maintains audit trails and operates within existing governance frameworks. Early users report reducing impact-assessment time from days to hours whilst maintaining human oversight. The platform is built on Tridion's structured content system, used across medtech, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors for managing technical and regulatory documentation. General availability is planned for 2027. RWS is a UK-based AI solutions company listed on AIM, serving over 80 of the world's top 100 brands.

One industry sees 600 UK companies close 'thanks to AI'

One industry sees 600 UK companies close 'thanks to AI' Last year was the first time in a decade in which closures outnumbered new arrivals. * 12:41, 15 SEP 2026 * Updated12:44, 15 SEP 2026 Its community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from Urban Trendz and its partners. You can check out at any time. More info The UK's translation industry boom could be over thanks to the rise of AI - with businesses increasingly turning to free models to do the work. Analysis bycompanydata.comfound that the translation industry has stopped growing with the number of active UK businesses falling for the first time since 2015. The country now has 4,088 translation companies, down from a peak of 4,217 at the end of 2024.Last year was the first time in a decade in which closures outnumbered new arrivals, with 601 translation companies struck off the Companies House register against 546 newly incorporated in 2025. Powered by This year the gap is wider still, just 361 companies registered between January and mid-September, while 436 closed. In a 2024 survey by the Chartered Institute of Linguists, more than 70% of freelance translators and interpreters said their workload had fallen and half called the drop significant. In a Society of Authors survey the same year, 36% of translators said they'd already lost work to generative AI and 77% expected it to cut their income. What's left pays less, a UK freelance translator working through an agency gets around 7.5 pence a word for general text and that rate is still sliding. This year's European Language Industry Survey found every part of the industry agreeing that prices fell again in 2025, with no rebound expected. Across Europe the decline is steeper - 39,869 translation companies remain, but this is down 2.5% this year.Uttam Ramdaras, data analyst atcompanydata.com, said: "The gap has been narrowing for years and it's now closed.Until 2024, more translation companies opened than shut. Last year that flipped and this year the gap is wider still. You can't read motive from a register, but the timing is hard to ignore. "Anyone can get a usable translation out of a free AI model in just seconds and the businesses that used to do that work are coming off the register."

Frontier AI models score worse than coin flip on grammar in some languages, RWS benchmark shows

RWS has launched M-GATE, an independent benchmark measuring how well 70 AI models handle grammar, translation and efficiency across 30 languages. The benchmark reveals significant blind spots: some leading models score below 50% — worse than random guessing — on grammar tests in certain languages. Google's Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview currently leads overall grammar performance, whilst OpenAI's GPT-5.5 tops translation accuracy. However, no single model excels across all languages. xAI's Grok 4.20 performs best on Fijian grammar, but GPT-5.5 falls below chance on the same language, and Meta's Muse Spark scores just 23%. M-GATE evaluates models using linguist-designed "stumper" sentences and roundtrip translation tests. RWS's CEO Vasagi Kothandapani said the benchmark helps enterprises "choose the right model with confidence" rather than relying on unverified language support claims.
