Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Hold current registered nurse state licensure.
  • Have experience in clinical nursing.
  • Have at least six additional months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, employee motivation, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrate management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
  • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge and oversee patient assessments and care plans.
  • Make daily decisions regarding continuity of care, patient safety, and staff safety.
  • Lead, coach, and provide development plans for direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program in collaboration with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical, operational, and administrative record integrity and complete required data collection and audits.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Participate in on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Execute short- and long-term objectives and manage facility costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily dialysis clinic operations, including center staff functions, patient-care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss, budgets, and key performance indicators for the center.
  • Act as a resource for patients and families and address their concerns and questions.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring team members and ensure completion of new-hire orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient-care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Provide staff support, training, guidance, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Obtain feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations when needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and ensure regular, effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional interdisciplinary Governing Body.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement and quality assessment and improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Implement quality standards, regulatory requirements, risk-management initiatives, and facility-specific action plans.
  • Coordinate responses to adverse safety events and action thresholds.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety and monitor facility security.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of equipment, operating systems, and the facility structure.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, approve purchase orders, and control supply costs.
  • Contribute to facility policy and procedure development and updates.
  • Direct information gathering to support billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Supervise Charge RN and DPC staff.
  • Interact with patients, facility staff, and physicians in the healthcare facility.
  • Stand for prolonged periods, bend over, and occasionally move patients or equipment with assistance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Medical/surgical or intensive care unit/coronary care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
