Rooms Controller
About the job
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Rooms Controller or similar rooms division management role within a luxury hotel environment.
- Proven experience in room inventory management, occupancy forecasting, and yield management.
- Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience with housekeeping and maintenance personnel.
- Strong proficiency with property management systems and hotel management software.
- Excellent knowledge of revenue management principles and pricing strategies.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and security protocols within hospitality operations.
- Ability to liaise effectively across departments.
- Oversee daily room inventory, occupancy levels, and room status management to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Manage and optimise room revenue through strategic pricing, forecasting, and yield management initiatives.
- Supervise and coordinate the housekeeping and maintenance teams, including staff scheduling, induction, and performance management.
- Monitor and maintain room cleanliness, maintenance, and guest-ready conditions across all guest rooms.
- Liaise with the Front Office and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless communication and guest experiences.
- Analyse occupancy data, revenue reports, and key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Address and resolve guest complaints and maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage room maintenance requests and coordinate with engineering and housekeeping departments.
- Maintain accurate records of room status, maintenance schedules, and inventory within the property management system.
- Conduct regular quality assurance inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Fairmont standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on room operations, occupancy rates, and revenue performance for management review.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to support promotional activities and special events.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols throughout the rooms division.
