Banner Health earns Forbes recognition as one of America's Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals. Team culture, engagement help land Banner on list for second consecutive year. PHOENIX (Sept. 30, 2026) - Banner Health, one of the nation's largest nonprofit health systems and Arizona's largest private employer, has been named to Forbes' 2026 list of America's Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals for the second consecutive year. Of the 250 organizations recognized in the competitive nationwide ranking, Banner was the only Arizona-headquartered health system on the list, further cementing its standing as a leading workplace for healthcare professionals across the country. "Being named to the Forbes list for the second year in a row is a reflection of the people who make Banner what it is," said Amy Perry, president and chief executive officer of Banner Health. "Our team members show up every day with purpose and heart, pouring everything into caring for each other and the communities we serve. As a nonprofit health system, Banner's caring culture shapes our amazing clinical, social and economic impact. When our team thrives, our patients and communities feel it." The Forbes ranking is based on an independent survey of more than 30,000 healthcare professionals across the U.S., drawing from more than one million employer evaluations collected over a three-year period. Evaluations covered a broad range of factors including wages, working conditions, career advancement and safety. At a time when stress and burnout remain persistent challenges across the healthcare industry, Banner's One Team culture, emphasis on career growth and sustained commitment to team member well-being continue to set it apart as a place where people choose to build meaningful careers. That commitment shows up in tangible ways. Banner team members continuously look for opportunities to improve the workplace experience, from streamlining nursing documentation to significantly reduce time spent on administrative tasks, to implementing Enhanced Radiation Protection Devices that enable lead-free cardiac catheterization procedures and improve staff safety. These are not isolated efforts but part of a broader, ongoing investment in the people who deliver care every day. The connection between a strong workplace culture and exceptional patient outcomes is one Banner has reinforced throughout 2026. Earlier this year, multiple Banner hospitals earned national recognition for clinical quality and patient safety from Healthgrades, Forbes and U.S. News and World Report - a testament to what becomes possible when engaged, supported team members bring their best to work. The Forbes recognition caps a strong year of workplace honors for Banner, adding to its third consecutive Great Place to Work Certification(TM), its ongoing placement on the FORTUNE Best Workplaces in Health Care list and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Corporate Citizen of the Year award, which recognized Banner's role as Arizona's largest private employer and its commitment to community health and economic vitality. Banner Northern Colorado Medical Center and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center recognized for work to improve breastfeeding. GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 28, 2026): Earlier this month, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recognized Banner North Colorado Medical Center and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, among 34 other Colorado hospitals, for their commitment to promoting and supporting breastfeeding through the Colorado Hospital Lactation Collaborative. The awards recognize hospitals that have implemented evidence-based maternity care policies and practices that support breastfeeding and improve care for families across Colorado. At the Sept. 16 event, CDPHE honored Banner Northern Colorado Medical Center with the Colorado Hospital Breastfeeding Excellence Platinum Award and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center with the Colorado Hospital Breastfeeding Excellence Gold Award. The Colorado Hospital Breastfeeding Excellence Award honors hospitals on a biennial basis for their commitment to evidence-based maternity care and breastfeeding support through written hospital policies that follow at least several of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative's Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Award levels range from Bronze to Diamond based on the number of Steps implemented. These evidence-based policies and practices are designed to increase breastfeeding success and improve maternal and infant health outcomes. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our nurses, lactation consultants and physicians at both Banner Northern Colorado Medical Center and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center. They give new parents the time, support and confidence they need in those first days with their baby," said Julia Reinink, Banner Health's chief nursing officer in Northern Colorado. "We're proud to be part of the Colorado Hospital Lactation Collaborative and to help families across Northern Colorado get a strong, healthy start close to home." Additionally, CDPHE recognized all eight Baby-Friendly designated facilities in Colorado for receiving and maintaining the Baby-Friendly designation. The Colorado Hospital Lactation Collaborative is open to all hospitals and birthing facilities and provides free training, resources, and technical assistance to help facilities implement evidence-based maternity care policies and practices that strengthen breastfeeding support and improve care for families. The Collaborative also supports facilities interested in pursuing and maintaining Baby-Friendly designation and implementing the evidence-based practices outlined in the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative's Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. "Evidence-based hospital practices can make a meaningful difference not only in whether families start breastfeeding, but in how long they continue. The support families receive during their hospital stay can have an impact long after they go home. Our Colorado data show that parents who reported receiving at least five of the Ten Steps during their hospital stay breastfed for approximately three months longer than those who did not," said Stacy Miller, Breastfeeding Specialist at CDPHE and facilitator of the Colorado Hospital Lactation Collaborative. (Sept. 24, 2026) - Banner Health is bringing Walk with a Doc, the national program that pairs a short health talk with a community walk, to Fort Collins. The new chapter will host free walks on the first Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. at the Fort Collins Senior Center, with the next walk taking place on Saturday, Oct. 3. Each walk opens with a 10 to 15 minutes talk on a current health topic led by a Banner Health physician or provider. Participants then spend the rest of the hour walking at their own pace and distance, asking questions along the way and getting to know their neighbors. Walks are free and open to everyone, whatever their age or fitness level. The next walk falls during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Audrey Klawiter, DO, a Banner Health family medicine physician, will share information about breast health and the importance of preventive care before the group heads out. Dr. Klawiter has practiced family medicine in Northern Colorado since completing her residency at Poudre Valley Hospital in 2019. She cares for patients of all ages and believes a trusting relationship is the foundation of good care. "Walking is one of the simplest things any of us can do for our health, and it's a lot easier to keep doing it when you're doing it together," said Lynn Bellmore, MD and Banner Health family medicine doctor who spearheaded the local initiative. "We wanted to give our community a regular, low-pressure way to get moving, ask questions and connect with health care providers outside of a clinic." Regular walking is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, cancer and depression, along with better energy, mood and sleep. Walk with a Doc shares more of the benefits at walkwithadoc.org/100reasons. Walkers should meet in the west side parking lot of the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, Fort Collins.
