Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential and nine years of clinical research experience, or two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and seven years of clinical research experience, or licensure as a Practical Nurse and six years of clinical research experience, or a bachelor's degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and five years of clinical research experience, or a master's degree, Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Philosophy in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and two years of clinical research experience.
  • All clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the credentialing category of Clinical Researcher.
  • Must reside in the state of Georgia.
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, orient, and supervise research administration staff or independently manage the most complex research administration activities associated with conducting clinical trials.
  • Manage a large clinical research project or multiple smaller clinical research projects.
  • Manage clinical trial-related information systems.
  • Supervise implementation of and adherence to study protocols.
  • Monitor expenditures and adherence to study budgets and resolve CAS issues.
  • Educate research staff on established policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Determine effective strategies for promoting and recruiting research participants and retaining participants in long-term clinical trials.
  • Periodically audit operations, including laboratory procedures, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and provide leadership in identifying and implementing corrective actions and processes.
  • Plan, identify, and handle study-related equipment and facility needs.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in identifying and completing research grants, study materials, brochures, and correspondence.
  • Develop and submit grant proposals.
  • Lead or chair committees or task forces to address and resolve significant issues.
  • Perform related approved responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing social behavioral research projects in a clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with qualitative data collection methods, including focus groups and structured interviews.
  • Familiarity with qualitative data analysis and experience supporting such analyses.
  • Certified Research Administrator or Clinical Research Coordinator certification is preferred.
