Payhawk's AI agents to retrieve invoices and save customers 4 years of manual work

Payhawk, an AI-native spend management platform, has launched new capabilities for its Financial Controller Agent that automatically retrieves invoices from vendor portals, including Cloudflare-protected sites. The feature eliminates the manual process of logging in, searching and downloading invoices, which typically takes three minutes per invoice. The agent, verified with Cloudflare's Verified Bots programme, uses cryptographic authentication to securely access vendor portals after employee verification. Invoice data is automatically coded and integrated with over 60 systems for real-time reconciliation. Payhawk expects customers to collect more than 500,000 online invoices in 2026, saving approximately four years of manual work. The feature is currently in preview for selected customers using Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, major cloud providers and transportation companies, with general availability expected later this year at no additional cost.

Billions In Tech Investments Wasted: How Cfos Can Stop Losing Money On Their Tech Stack

With agentic AI, the role of а CFO is undergoing its biggest transformation since the introduction of spreadsheets, according to international finance leaders speaking at Money 20/20 in Amsterdam last week.As AI begins handling routine tasks from expense processing to compliance monitoring, CFOs are discovering they need new skills and many are struggling to catch up.That’s why Payhawk and Starship Technologies decided to join forces and create a Finance Tech webinar series to help executives understand how fragmented finance tools create hidden costs and inefficiencies, and how AI can provide the visibility needed to eliminate waste and maximize ROI.On the 18th of June launch panel, Andrew Rudchuk (Head of Finance Systems at Starship Technologies) will share a corporate practitioner’s perspective on wrestling value from complex systems, while Tsvetina Yancheva (Payhawk’s Director of Product Marketing) will offer insights into the new solutions like AI agents. The discussion, moderated by Payhawk’s Senior Communications Manager Georgi Ivanov, promises to delve into how their team can “turn things around when juggling multiple systems” and finally close the ROI gap in finance tech“We’re creating reverse mentorship programs – younger AI-native hires teaching senior professionals while learning business context,” said Konstantin Dzhengozov, CFO of Payhawk. “It’s a completely new leadership dynamic where managing hybrid teams means AI agents handle defined roles while humans focus on strategy, judgment, and stakeholder relationships.”The knowledge gapThe AI transformation is happening faster than many anticipated. While 56% of US CFOs already use AI for the majority of their financial decision-making, only 1% consider themselves “mature” in AI deployment, according to data from McKinsey data. Many organizations use a snippet of the systems’ capabilities that they pay for. Companies invest heavily in ERP (enterprise resource planning) and EPM (enterprise performance management) systems, but often end up scratching just the surface of these tools’ potential as they lack the knowledge on how to use it efficiently. In one survey of large enterprises, respondents admitted they use only about 64% of their systems’ core features on average. Nearly half even confessed they “don’t need” all the capabilities of their pricey software – an indication that many features go unused either because teams genuinely find no use for them, or more likely, because they lack the time and training to apply them effectively.Payhawk’s CFO spots this as a symptom of a broader knowledge and training gap that is quietly costing businesses millions.“We’re teaching AI literacy the same way we once taught Excel proficiency,” revealed Dzenghozov during a panel discussion at Money 20/20. “It’s not just about using AI tools, but understanding their capabilities, limitations, and strategic applications.”With the lack of knowledge comes lack of trust in the new technologies

Payhawk Partners With Novutech To Deliver 2X Faster Month-End Close For Netsuite Users

Payhawk, a platform offering an expense management solution for businesses in 32 countries, has signed a strategic partnership with Novutech, a consulting firm specialising in digital transformation for businesses across Europe and a NetSuite expert. This collaboration is part of a shared commitment to provide customers with more integrated, automated and efficient expense management solutions.According to McKinsey, only 20% of companies manage to capture more than half the projected benefits from ERP systems. Leading ERP vendors recognise the limitations of the “one size fits all” model of establishing an ERP within their clients’ business. They are shifting towards modularity, which means taking advantage of the best in class plug-ins to get an ERP set up that works in the right way.Among the market’s main differentiators, Payhawk stands out for its numerous ERP integrations and its ability to offer real-time control and visibility. With Novutech as a Payhawk user, their team quickly realised the tangible benefits of the platform: previously, they had been using manual processes to manage expense reports, which was very time-consuming for employees and meant that expenses took longer to process. Today, expense management is much faster, employees use company cards, data is entered automatically thanks to OCR technology, and native integration with NetSuite enables real-time synchronisation.“Today’s finance teams are being asked to provide strategic insights while still bogged down by manual reconciliation and data entry,” said Valentin Gerbi, Country Director of France at Payhawk

Payhawk Unveils ‘Ai Office Of The Cfo,’ Bringing Enterprise-Ready Ai To Finance Operations

Payhawk, the leading spend management platform, today announced the launch of “AI Office of the CFO,” a suite of specialised AI agents that solve finance’s biggest AI challenge: drastically increasing finance teams’ productivity while maintaining complete control over their operations. With its platform already managing companies’ transactions, policies, workflows, and master data, Payhawk is uniquely positioned to build AI Agents that deliver practical value alongside the necessary controls. These new AI agents autonomously handle operational tasks with the same careful permissions as employees, enabling organisations to implement AI with confidence. While building its in-house agentic infrastructure, Payhawk has been leveraging early-access OpenAI models to refine its AI agent technology. The company is launching the suite with its Financial Controller Agent, which will take over the tedious tasks of chasing receipts, analysing expense documents, and spotting unusual spending patterns. This marks another milestone in Payhawk’s journey to redefine financial operations, adding AI agents to its unified spend management platform.“Finance leaders know AI will have an impact on their operations, but until now, there hasn’t been a clear and practical path forward,” said Hristo Borisov, CEO of Payhawk. “We’re not just adding AI features — we’re creating a new category of purpose-built agents that transform finance operations by autonomously completing critical, time-consuming tasks.”The AI Office of the CFO suite introduces agents that elevate key functions:The Financial Controller Agent eliminates the endless back-and-forth of expense reporting. Instead of managers chasing employees for missing receipts or checking expense reports line by line, the agent automatically collects documents, sends friendly reminders when something’s missing, and flags any unusual purchases — freeing up time for more valuable work. The Procurement Agent turns complicated purchase requests into simple conversations
